I get that, but are we (literally) aware of? Honestly, I don’t know. Nor do I know what the ramifications of it could possibly be. More regulation? Sone silly new rule designed to put more of my money in someone else’s pocket? That’s inevitable, anyway.

This is Illinois. Nothing will change here, ever. Not being a downer; it’s merely obvious.

I’m going to be the best at what I do I can be, and hope the ne’er do well hacks screw it up as little as possible. That’s the best deal we’re going to get, and most of us know it.

What we are "aware of" is that independence is compromised. Not all...certainly NOT all. But, Geppetto is pulling strings.

You know I'm not necessarily cut out for this, Lee. I don't understand what you're saying, I bet I'm not alone in that, and it's frustrating. I'm not compromised, you're not compromised, so exactly WHO'S compromised? Am I supposed to understand by what you've said? I don't.

If it's the board, okay, so what about it? Will it affect us somehow, and if so, how? If there's an ill effect heading our way because of this what one earth might it be? A new fee to line Illinois' coffers? Some new reg? What is it?

If you know something please say it, I'm not a very good mind reader. This is like one of Hannity's "tic toc" moments.

Dave...

The exercise of independent thought and action have been compromised as has at least one area of legitimate Board authority (scheduling meetings) as spelled-out in law.

Its understood something is amiss, but its difficult to speak up when one doesn't know exactly what to speak up against.

So why do you keep talking in the shadows? Shine the light, so even the blind might see what you see.

It's enough that the folks most associated with the Board are aware that it is known that something is amiss (e.g., independent thought is not welcomed; legitimate area of Board authority is diminished) due to the thumb that is heavy on the Board. Opinions contrary to those of the Director are not welcomed at meetings.
