I'm A Wimp

Today the rain was a soaker. So glad I wasn't out today. When I was younger, I was stupid to be out. Can't wait to appraise outside tomorrow. I can say the drought is over in California. Next year should be great in California. No more water rationing. More green lawns, good curb appeal, the real estate market looks good.

I'm getting wimpier, if the schools are closed for weather, I'm staying home.

I measured 2 houses in the rain last week. It is one of those occupational hazards I have to put up with. I won't do McMansions in the rain.

I still have 3 days worth of permits to check on...measuring in the snow and muck is fun! Then it's bring a cot and pillow to work thru Feb to enter an entire year's worth of new data...at least it's inside tho.

Steady to downpour rain sucks to do exterior measurements, pics, etc.

Seems the only homes I inspect in the rain are new construction or older homes with lots of bushes. Nice thing about it, no one is interested in following you around and talking while you measure.

I can still remember when I was much younger I inspected a new home in a subdivision while it's raining. It was horrible. My shoes were so muddy walking around the property. Never again on rainy day.

One word: Oregon. You watch the weather forecasts and plan accordingly, but even during the worst rain there are ways of minimizing soggy field sheets (measure inside, leave the clipboard at the porch and measure a few sides at a time). I doubt I get really soaked but a few times a year.
