I'm A Wimp

Last week I made an appraisal date for tomorrow. Tomorrow will be start of 5 day rain storm. There's a 95% chance of rain for my time period. I wish the weather report will be wrong.
I hate appraising in the rain. I miss the drought days.

Well you're bound to be disappointed if you refer to an appraisal inspection appointment as an "appraisal date".

But shine on you crazy diamond!

I had a lady who wanted an appraisal date, but I told her it would be a USPAP violation.

I never liked the term "appraiser inspection" maybe it seems so formal and level of inspection expertise is high. I prefer "appraisal date" because it's less informal, less invasive, and look forward to it. Yesterday, it wasn't the rain that bother me the most. The homeowner expanded the damn house. Normally, I ask if any changes to house but I assumed this was a typical tract home. I don't like surprises in my appraisal date.

I always tell the homeowner that I need to set up a time for me to come out and look at their home. I try not to use the word "Inspection or inspect."

I think I'm catching a cold...slight runny noise and sore throat. Weather past several days has been terribly raining. Just when I thought it was sunny, it started raining and got wet. Don't feel like doing appraisals for next couple days.

Just go do-it because you either have too much money or you are just spoiled ... In Los Angeles County our worst rain compared to most parts of the country is nothing ! Maybe you need to go to a safe-zone at one of our local colleges in LA county ** They have soft music - therapy doggy's -warming blankets and many things that can help Los Angeles County Appraisers make it through this heavy winter. :) LOL

Yesterday, I measured a mixed use building and when I got back to the car my hair was messed up.
