"Inflation is coming down"

1733605254358.pngWally World CEO says prices will not come down much in 2025.

What we've left our children and grandchildren:

somebody has been raiding the cookie jar for years, I did not receive a dime (so "we" doesn't include me), I also did not get a share of the Mexico check that was paid to Donnie (or was it

I wasn't going to buy a fresh tree this year but my Princess Daughter wanted a tree. I still spoil her.
Instead of my usually 7-8 feet Noble Fir, I got a smaller 6-7 footer.
Regular price is $79.99. Didn't know prices have gone that high.

It probably doesn't compare to the cost of all that goes beneath it. Think of that. Do you really want a tree? ( Well, admittedly, I don't have the girls at home anymore. And the granddaughters, who have a voracious appetite for expensive gifts, live far, far away in Texas. - I think I can forget Texas exists this year, because I have a problem buying a new drone - given the expected new regulations. I feel the drone I want will cost way more than I can afford - if I can even buy it after the regs get finalized [will all Chinese (i.e. DJI/Autel) drones be banned?] ). The real danger of the tree - is that it will get my wife thinking about gifts for the granddaughters.

yea, maybe coming down?

The once-lost ruby slippers Judy Garland wore in “The Wizard of Oz” have now found a new home.
Nearly 20 years after they were stolen from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, the slippers were sold at a live auction Saturday for $28 million, along with a $4.5 million buyer’s premium. It was not immediately clear who the buyer was, but it was sold to a phone bidder, according to auction records.

My daughter and her husband bought new Apple iWatches for their 5, 7 and 9 year olds back in September as one of their birthday presents. Good idea - they can keep track of them and are always able to telephone them, the girls can choose from many different designs to put on their watch - such as a Micky Mouse one. And they have a learning tool on their wrist with Siri to answer questions.

And by the time they are 15 …

And I bought a $700 Google laptop for their 7 year old for her birthday in October …. The new world.

BTW, my Garmin Fenix 5 reached the 10th birthday on October. These watches are super long lasting and rugged, although a bit expensive. They hold thei charge for almost two weeks.

I however finally decided to get an Apple Ultra 2, since it keeps its charge for about 36 hours - which I can live with. When I have to put it on a charger for an hour, I just replace it with my old Garmin Fenix 5.

1. Once you calibrate the Ultra for distance, it is very accurate.
2. It is ultra easy to get a good quality EKG. They get stored as history and you can review them on your iPhone or Mac for slow changes over time indicating perhaps heart problems like Afib
3. You can be called and you can immediately respond. You can also call out any time. I jog along the ocean in Pacifica - and can be immediately warned of an impending Tsunami. It is a loud warning for a watch!
4. There are so many other good features on it.

I love the smell of my fresh Christmas tree. It does cause a mess of leave debris on my hardwood floors.
When children were young, it was a challenge in buying toys and other things.
Now I just give mostly cash or gift cards and let them buy what they want.
Only they know what they (and me) need and other material stuff not really useable (like the many wallets I got in the past).

Screens and kids is a major struggle for parents these days. You should run the laptop by your daughter and see if she is okay with it for the 7 year old. She probably doesn't want screens is why she got them watches instead of phones.
