No it doesn't Eli but it doesn't look any better for the west coast either. The distance between Miami/Ft Lauderdale and Naples/Ft Meyers is only about 200 miles via 75 and this this Hurricane is in excess of 400 miles. NO PLACE IS SAFE or immune from this monster in So Fl or elsewhere in the state. The Mayor of Naples has not yet issued evacuation orders (exception being waterfront flood area) - his reasoning is that there are 300,000 people in Collier County with no where to go because there are not enough hotels, motels etc to accommodate them up the state. The northbound lanes heading out of Fl are already grid locked. There's no ice, gas or food available at the exits along the way. The roads are gridlocked headed to to Atlanta.
Right now in Miami/Dade/Ft. Lauderdale there is not a bottle of water or loaf of bread to be found on any store shelf. So says my friends and family.
My prayers are with you and your family and the whole state. I saw one time today where the storm was 674 miles in diameter. That's big.
