Is everyone busy? Not much activity on the TN threads lately.

Hey Scott

Real slow for me here. Been trying to drum up new clients since i got my license back in January. Very little luck. Just plugging away making calls, most of my old clients are out of business or they are happy with the appraisers they have. Just trying to be patient.

Sorry I've not been posting on the TN forum lately. I keep forgetting to check it. I am not really busy but I have a lot of work to do. It seems like it is taking me an hour or two longer to do an appraisal now with all of the new requirements. What say you?

This week has been great for me. I have done 6 in 4 days. Hope it keeps up. Looks like AMC's are putting alot of weight on Cert. Appraisers.

Sorry I haven't posted since Jan. When I closed my business in Knoxvillle to take a position in Northern CA, I sort of forgot about the forum. However, The company in CA was a disaster and and now I have relocated to the Tri Cities to relaunch my company in early July. While I see the rise in appraisal activity and will consider certain AMC's (i.e. fees and indemnity) I plan on being patient and staying with FHA, multifamily and litigation. In short, patience and "day to day" study and feedback is in my forseeable future. Incidentally, anybody goning to the REO seminar this Friday in Chattanooga?

Good to have you back in East Tennessee. You know how those CA people can be. You are better off here in the Volunteer State anyway. Work has been slow for the last couple of weeks since the HVCC took effect. Even my FHA orders have dried up. It is really weird. Who is offering the REO class on Friday? I have all of my CE in for this renewal period. I renewed them last month but they are not due until June 30. I did not want to take a chance with the FHA roster not being updated.

RSW, Thank you for the "welcome back". The REO seminar in Chattanooga is sponsored by AI. Hope yours (and everyone's) orders pick up soon.

well well, after 13 years of building a business, looks like HVCC will do us in here. have had only two orders come in since 05/01. the AMC's seemed overwhelmed, took almost a week to get a reply from them because they gave us a wrong contact number, and by the way, their contract states they will pay approx. 60% of the fee collected for the appraisal, way to go..

Kindof busy, A few FHA's and reviews. I got the kids this morning so I have spare time to use here! Alot of reviews in the Memphis area. Anyone else seeing this??

I got a review from Madison Credit last week. I don't do a lot of reviews unless they arew willing to pay a reasonable fee for them. I mainly am doing FHA and some conventional in between. Right now, I'm doing between 5 - 10 per week.

Same here. It is funny that it takes me twice as long to complete a review as it does just doing the appraisal and clients want to pay me half as much. I have to review all of the other appraisers work, then complete my own report usually. It is a pain but I have learned alot. What I look for in someone elses report is the same thing people will look for in mine. Helps me cover my own bases. I only have 2 clients that will pay me for it though. Others want $160.00. I will not even leave my office for that. Where do they come up with this stuff????
