I got a call from TransU... I mean MDA today and they wanted me to do a 1004 with the 1004mc addendum for $230 today. I laughed and told them I would not do it for less than $350. It is in another county.

Last week was a slow down, but this week has picked right back up. Im about as busy as i want to be right now.
My thoughts on the HVCC. If its going to "do you in" you didnt diversify when you should have!

I agree with you Dean. I have been really busy this week and I am getting full fee on most of my orders. They are not easy one. But, they are full fee orders.

Yeah, I'm freaking busy, busy checking the inbox for new request. AppraiserLoft sends out mass emails and whoever clicks first gets the deal. This kinda crap just doesn't seem right. Lots of luck dealing with these SOB's.......14 years of work down the crapper, thanks HVCC and lets not forget the politicians

It is so stupid for the AMC's (APPRAISERLOFT) to mass email appraisers with a (1 order) order and when you accept you only see another appraiser in the area has accepted it. We have to constantly be logged in to our email to even have a chance at getting a order from them. I hope all of the AMC's are not going to do this. If so it will make it tough to get anything to do. Has anyone else had a similar experience with this? I have been checking my incoming box every five minutes and finally got a order from APPRAISERLOFT. I accepted the order only to get the message that another appraiser in the area had already accepted it. This has happened 7-8 times in the last few days. This is like bait and switch. They get us signed up only to tease us its not right. Guess the consumer is going to have to complain before anything is done. We as appraiser's should band together and not do these reduced fee appraisals and see what they can do then. Something is surely going to give soon. I cant imagine this lasting if the consumer has anything to do with it.

govols, maybe they instantly decided that the other appraiser had more experience, did better work, and is more qualified, and therefore they wanted to pay him/her a bit more and give them a bit more time in order to receive a higher quality of report.

OR NOT and maybe they are a bunch of slimmy son's of witches that don't give a rats but about anything but maximizing their own pockets in the immediate short run and screw anybody that gets in their way.

I've been doing this a long time. Though I have never done any or even heard of the company in question, I can promise you one thing. Companies similar to the one you have described will not be around very long unless they change their practices. Also, you don't want to business with companies simiar to this bunch. Similar co's don't care about quality, and they very well could be dishonest at their core. If so, they will offer you up to the E and O alter at their first opportunity even after you give them a very cheap fee. Lot of thanks, Huh.

I would be having a great year, but lost a major account, so it's about like last year so far. Win some and lose some.

Sorry you are having a tough go of it. You do need to lose the client in question. They sound like a headache and don't appear to be doing you much good anyway.

The HVCC did you in?
Didnt you have enough warning it was coming?
Didnt you make key business decisions to prepare for it?
It doesnt matter if im a Brit or a spaceman, it didnt take a genius to work out if you had a lot of Mortgage brokers for clients, you would become a slave to the AMC.
