In our business, shaving minutes cost dollars. Luckily we can write them off. This device is a no brainer purchase. You will save time and be confident in your accuracy.
The op's Disto is too 'bells and whistles' for me. I can live without BT and touch screen, it's the reliability and quality I depend on in the Disto name.
As with any digital gear, there are field procedures that take time to develop into your inspection. I can honestly say I can beat any appraiser with a wheel or two appraisers with a tape; the Disto is my third hand.
You can blow $50 or $100 on a depot laser special. You also can eat walghetto steaks. Digger don't play that.
I bought my D5 used...yes used...off the bay, I believe right before I got certified. For nearly 10 years my Disto has performed flawlessly. Low battery indicator, I got a week to buy more. Buttons work first time, every time.
Ponder on it....
yea, im doing a d5, lol. tried to buy tonight but they were closed.
I have a Disto D5 and a Disto E7500, both having a zoom-in feature when distance or sun are an issue. I prefer using the infared glasses though. My first disto was a small brick, probably from 2001. Still have it, in case I hire a trainee.
Wayne's site probably has the current distos. I found both of mine on a website for a company based in Florida, not stating the price unless one called or asked for the price. Probably under the Leica suggested selling price.
is wayne appraiserlaser? tried to buy tonight but they were closed and did say i had to call to get the price.
