Map Issue

>> I have submitted a report by copying and pasting the map; hand typed the distances; it cleared ncv's uad review and went through to appraisalport; but I might see it back again, will let you know

Well if appraisalport took it without a hiccup, it's probably good to go.

I had to do that yesterday to finish a report, but as noted, it is time to move on. I really liked using NCV and did so for many years. But I can't delay people buying homes or refinancing because my unsupported software isn't going through. I've chosen another vendor and will be moving on.

RE: Homputer

I purchased it on 1/31/2015 before the expiration date of that month's sale for $99. (Apparently extended to this month).

I have "played with it" a couple of times and it seems pretty easy to learn but I haven't had the time recently to get into the devil's details.

What I appreciated about JD was his kiss software. And I emphatically state that as a compliment.

It appears that Homeputer is similar.

RE: Map issue

I am using a Street Atlas for the map, arrows, calculating distances etc and manually inputting the distances in "UAD format" from previous NCV appraisals.

Then print to CutePDF, snapshot the map itself, and pasting it to the NCV map addendum.

So far so good with 30+ appraisal with this workaround.

Save steps - Use Snipping Tool to copy and then past map direct from Street Atlas
"Snipping Tool" is a built-in to Windows 7 - look for it under HELP feature

Thanks for another time saver.

I used this software because i am a no frills guy and liked the plain Jane nature of it. But, it caused me a lot of heartache and it ultimately wasnt worth it. I have tried most of the options over the years and after NCV went to Alamode. I got to say, i have NEVER been happier with my software.

Same problem, used NCV because it was a similar location to one completed early in Jan. I cut and pasted an alaMode map into it and noted the map source as different.
I will still use NCV for some projects even though I have alaMode.

And your winner is..... ????

SFREP http://www.sfrep.com/

(I'm working with their 30-day free demo package. I haven't spent a dime yet for it, no credit card given, totally free to try.) I like the interface, the people that answered the phone, and the relaxed, low-key tutorial videos. I'm not flashy. I also prefer the arrangement of $45 a month versus a big check once a year. Silly maybe. I don't need all the extra stuff that Alamode offers. It's about $100 less per year than Total as well.

I am doing something very similar, but copy and past from Google Maps - MS Paint - NCV. Instead of AppraisalPort, I've successfully upoaded 1 through ACI Sky and haven't heard back.
