This might be bit of an odd request for you'll in Tennessee. I'm cert. residential in Oregon, and a trainer, with two current registered assistants. The liberal politics in Oregon is pushing me to a breaking point, many of my friends have already left. I've been looking for a place to move my family and business, and Tennessee keeps keeps coming up. Is anyone willing to share the areas of Tennessee I should move to? We are looking for a small acreage property (2-10 ac) but close to urban area (quality schools, church, dining, and grocery). Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.

All I know is I don't want to be in extreme W. Tennessee because if/when another New Madrid sized earthquake occurs...not gonna be real safe. And other than Memphis, it's not all that populated as well. Franklin and Nashville are pretty nice places that I've been there. Took a class CE at Murfreesboro - nice town too. My nephew lived there for several years.

The day is coming when you can't move away from liberals. They're being molded at an early age now. Tenn will be liberal too, if it isn't already. China and Russia are conservative.

Give me a call if you are interested in East Tennessee. I have been here for 23 years. I am a Real Estate Broker too and can help you find a house.

You sound like Knoxville would be your best spot. There are several areas around Knoxville. Your political views tell me Knoxville could be your best spot. Plus you wanting to be near metropolitan/urban area. Nashville would be second. Memphis would be last based on your politcal views.

You basically have 4 major urban areas. Memphis, Jackson, Nashville, Knoxville. Political views as you expressed are different. Memphis is hugely democrat. Jackson is mixed. Nashville is mixed. Knoxville is primarily republican. Tennessee is strange in how mixed political views are across the state. The state can shift gears in a heartbeat. You have to look at the major metropolitan areas, which are Memphis and Nashville. They can change minds like the wind. If they vote one way or the other, forget about the rest of the State.

Okay, if your looking for a solid conservative standpoint, you won't find it in any major urban area in Tennessee, because Tennessee is so mixed in political views of which party is conservative and which party is liberal. If your after faith based place to worship, Tennesse is a good choice for you.

From a complex standpoint of appraising, Knoxville will be the hardest. Nashville will be likely least complex. Jackson will be complex and Memphis will be most complex urban area.

Mermphis is so complex because of divisions within segments. Knoxville is complex because of many reasons. Just my humble opinion.

I live in Knoxville. Tbe city is mostly liberal while the county is conservative. East TN for the most part would be considered conservative. Real estate is at a premium right now due to the influx of out of state people moving in. You should contact Dean as he requested as he lives & works some of the rural counties around Knox county.

You will need to associate with someone locally in your choice to CYA. Just say I'll give you $X for a few months to let you review my reports. Tennessee is very diverse. CYA.

Cover your bases for local reviewer. The reviewer will be your sole client. And they could sign off with you.
