It was funny. I was a teenager and they would set up the race with the speedboats. They would have waterbuoys they set up and had to loop and come back to starting buoy. The only thing that would be in the water with his boat was the propeller. His whole boat would be off the water. Maybe touching water a little on back. He knew how to trim that big motor. And he had the bottom glazed like glass.

You would see cash passing hands at end of race. LOL

He didn't take a challenge for free.

The river had to be right too before anybody wanted to race. It can get rough sometimes.

All I know is I don't want to be in extreme W. Tennessee because if/when another New Madrid sized earthquake occurs...not gonna be real safe. And other than Memphis, it's not all that populated as well. Franklin and Nashville are pretty nice places that I've been there. Took a class CE at Murfreesboro - nice town too. My nephew lived there for several years.
Nice if you love being stuck in traffic. I miss the ease of getting around in Memphis. There may not be earthquakes in Murfreesboro but there is blasting and the water is awful, whereas Memphis water comes from artesian wells. I miss the food in Memphis, nothing but chain restaurants here. Beautiful scenery all around here though. I miss going to the Ozarks, but Smoky Mountains are close enough, just pricey, like everthing else in the 'Boro.
