National Appraiser Boycott

When do we finally join together as one and attempt to make changes that actually benefit us as the collective?

1. Our fees have been stagnant if not declining now for 12-15 years while everything else has gone up with inflation.

2. We face unethical AMC's that are taking a large % out of our fees with zero legislation in place to stop them unbeknownst to the general public.

3. We are forced to waste hours on end of our time as independent non salaried employees answering ridiculous revision requests that have zero effect on the actual assignment results.

4. We face absurd slander and attacks from Fair Housing officials who are now producing radio adds slandering the profession as "racists" with zero actual evidence of this
actually being an issue whatsoever in the industry. It makes no common sense to anyone with a functioning brain.

5. We are being tasked to learn a new "form" and new "software" with lenders and AMC's steadfast on paying us the same low ball fees regardless of the extra time constraints.



We have no Union. We have zero representation. No lobby fighting for us for even basic fair and reasonable treatment .

The only thing that is gonna save us is us. I don't know if a grassroots campaign is possible or will work and it might be painful for some for a few weeks but if we collectively boycott the conditions
we have been put in we can shut the whole system down until we are given what we ask or something atleast reasonable for the work we are putting in to try and feed our families.

What is stopping us from collectively boycotting the systems until we get better pay, resolve the AMC scam from the bad actors, get minimum fee standards. Get rid of the low ball "bid system" which
the consumer has zero idea takes place . The lenders and AMC's do not care about quality of one's work, they care about who can do it for the cheapest fee regardless of their talent or expertise.

Something has got to change. If not know, it will never happen.

Oh boy here they are, the apparasiers already posting to lecture, dump on others or discourage.

I estimate at most a third of appraisers are willing to help, and some are those who care even if their own fees and liveliehood is not directly affected. I commend G Hatch for that. He is willing to sign a petition even though as a cert gen his own income is not tied in to the AMC problem..

My unofficial estimate: A third of appraisers would lend support, a third are too passive or afraid and will do nothing, and a third will actively try to sabotage or discourage any efforts.

That is why (other than a lawsuit ) the other option is media attention and getting RE agent support.

Even people who use real sounding names turn out fake. Their scared to death of being found out by the AMCs they work for. No way those folks are signing a real name to any Boycott or Petition or helping fund the cost to gather them up.

You are correct. It is so cowardly to preach a sermon while refusing to use a real name.

Instead, tell the truth - that many experienced appraisers are quitting due mainly to low AMC fees and PDR collectors who are inserted to go to properties instead of an appraiser.

I like this idea as a press release to media outlets with an alternate letter then the one I posted informing the public to make them aware. The industry may get public sympathy due to corporate unfairness/greed as they can relate.

Would news Outlets find it a tintillating enough story and pick it up? If you can get one.....it'd be easier for other outlets in different states to pickup the story as well.

Petitions in my opinion, will do absolutely nothing.

What Media ? What's titillating about appraisers going broke or not being happy. You call your local media and see if there interested and let us know. O' I forgot your leaving on expensive vacation for a few weeks appraisal fee's must not be too bad or the wife has a real job and she's paying. Lol )

What do you care what appraisers do? You're not appraising.

The story might just gain traction because of corporate greed. All this talk of socialism and communism.... people are fed up. Hyper capitalism is not working for them.... it's only working for the people Trump gave tax breaks to.

Yup.... going to my wife's dream destination (at least she thinks so). We haven't been on a vacation "in years".
