New one for me

No gummies recommended....

Both of my parents had mild forms of arthritis but mercifully, it hasn't affected me. I attribute it to my T-supplementation and long term use of curcumin.

I've had back issues for many years. I had it under control until I lifted something I should not have last summer. It was downhill from there.

MRI shows buldging disks, stenosis, arthritis and scoliosis causing sciaticia. Doc (back surgeon) asked about the pain level. I told him its like someone sticking an ice pick in my butt and then setting my pants on fire. He said he'd call it a 10. He gave me steroid shots in the L3L4 disk which have helped. Also, occasional pain pill, Tramadol 50 mg. Also he said to try Turmeric with Curcumin, about 2,000 mg/day and occasional ibuprofen when needed. Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory.

The burning pain is now just a dull ache, not bad. I can live with it if the only option left is spinal fusion. Also, yoga stretching and core muscle strengthening will help.

Good Luck!!

PS Heat feels good but will exacerbate the inflammation thats causing the disc swelling. Heat is for muscles, cold is for joints.

Yeah, my new chick was in nursing and gave me a bunch of stretches to do. The thing is whenever she's in town I injure myself again :ROFLMAO:

Try the chiropractor and see if they can diagnose where the pain originated. I have a benign tumor inside my backbone that presses against the spinal cord, but it wasn't the problem. My sciatica ultimately was related to my sacroiliac and isn't really sciatica. But it mimics it. A chiropractor can treat the sacroiliac by laying you on your side, pulling your knee up under your chin and shoving down... sometimes it pops like a shotgun....well, not that loud but feels like it. An old chiropractor I knew didn't use that method but used sandbags and laid you out like he wanted then placed the sandbags (or maybe lead shot, something heavy) in certain locations and left you there 30 minutes or more. I've known others who used acupuncture.
Back in August, I had this excruciating pain going down my right leg. My health care provider didn't do anything except recommended me to go to a physical therapist. Actually they can't do anything unless invasive treatment. Anyway I went to my Chiropractor friend and he eased the pain seeing him twice a week. The pain very slowly went away and took a long time.
He said something about inflammation. The pain on the right leg seemed to have gone and now my left leg has this pain (Pain level 1) mostly when I sit too long (maybe I should get off AF).
I'm still seeing the Chiropractor once a week. I said I can live with it but he said he wants all the pain to go away. One shouldn't live with pain he says.

I know how you feel. It affected my sex life.

Unfortunately, Western medicine has not found easy treatment to get rid of "sciatic" pain. I suspect it was sciatic but not sure if something else.
I found walking and doing more physical exercise activities help in relieving and getting rid of the pain.
Then when I sit and watch TV for too long, it comes back.
It will take a long time to recover,
