Baker .. the hottest little town with a big thermometer and a Bun Boy(Restaurant).Took many a trip up Baker hill toward Vegas...Ah the good ole days.Did you know that Barstow does not even have ONE taxi...Now thats a Podunk town..
I do recall one regular restraunt but not the name. Perhaps that was the Bun Boy. This was back in 1982-83. There was also a Take-n-Go or some such, which was a little mexican joint. There was Charlie Brown's which was like a Village Pantry or Seven Eleven. Let's see, a liquor store or two, Shell gas station and it seems like there was another major one. I worked at the Burger King on the north end of town. That was back when a fellow named Jim McCalpin owned it as a franchise. It also served as the Grey Hound bus station, but passengers had to get their tickets from the driver. I lived in a housing addition further north just to the west of the post office.

But Barstow was the big city nearby if one wanted to buy a pair of socks or go to a real grocery store. Vegas, of course, was much bigger, but about 30 miles farther away than Barstow.

No not really, he'll just send the secretary or trainee. I had to drive to shoot a picture next to my inlaws that I've driven by for almost 20 years to meet the requirement. :Eyecrazy: That waw $8 in gas for a wasted trip.

Hey Slick! I can't afford a secretary or a trainee. I wouldn't be able to afford gas if I didn't drive a 1993 Camry. :rof::rof::rof:

I've had the same problem with a corrupted memory stick. I googled the error message that I was receiving when I put the stick in my card reader and found a bulletinboard reference to free recovery software called PC Inspector Smart Recovery from Convar. It worked like a charm on my memory stick for my Sony camera, and one of my co-workers was also able to recover corrupted files from her Kodak card. Most of the recovery programs that you can download for free will not let you save the photos until you pay a fee; this program did not have a fee to save the photos, it was free.
