October surprise

It depends on what you are buying and what your time frame is, but these are the dips that get bought by the chasers that missed the March-April lows.

It's fine to buy these dips knowing that price may revisit these levels in a couple years. It's also fine to buy these dips as a short term trade back to all time highs, if that is something that a trader wants to do.

I am being completely selfish. Having missed out on the appreciation since April I am looking for an entry point to add more to the account. I am converting my real estate to equities so I can stop getting my face kicked in.
Don’t worry, Trump and his whack policies will tank the market soon enough to give you plenty of “dip” opportunities.

Stay in the rear with the gear, John. It will keep your blood pressure under control.

Buying this dip is like buying one of those other yellow circles in 2024 and 2021. Didn't buy at the lows and now chasing the market at all time highs.

It's fine to do it, understanding where we are in the short-term cycle, but what happens is a lot of people that start buying here get shaken out when the big 20% draw down comes.

You’re just upset because you missed out on the big Trump induced dip in the DOW in April.

There will be plenty of big dip opportunities in the next 3+ years.

The premarket this Sunday morning looks ugly for the open on Monday, with NASDAQ down another 1,100 points.

The market will fall quickly but will rise slowly. You'll have plenty of time to get in but don't be in a hurry. We haven't seen a bottom yet.

My advice and I've been in the market for 50 years....Buy the best stocks in their respective sectors and hang onto them. Or just buy into one of the growth ETFs that's loaded up with the FAANG stocks along with a couple of older stocks like JD, CMI, PCAR, and a couple of financials like C, BAC, GS, etc. Maybe take a chance on PLTR and NVDA, I've made over 1,000% on those in the past 3 years.
