I'll bow out of this thread, too, as is always my lot once you and the few pop up. Mentor can feel free to make his immortal observation any time now.

Dave...

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers :clapping:

Say, an apology right about now would go a long way.

So many here "know me" in an entirely different manner than you, and the usual suspects, and all from the *same* posts. Imagine that. That tells me you're determined to go the way of the few, rather than the many, and while that is your choice don't blame me for your invincible determination to see something that isn't true.

When the congregation doesnt learn at home and they dont learn at church .. sometimes you have to preach. Sorry if you were so offended at my offense you would take the money .. as you said in your post. I dont blame you for anything unless it is that you cant post what you really think ... and thats not my problem my friend. Read your own posts sometimes with a clear and objective eye and see when "I would take the money and work all night and call it a rush fee" it does mean youd take the money (the bribe as it was described). Again your words not mine. The post was very clear and a few said they woudl take the money. I find that to be disgusting honestly.
I posted my thoughts clearly and if you think that Im wrong then tell me. Lets assume you take the money Dave .. you gonna disclose it in your report??
If the shoe fits ..

If it was Canadian cash or even Euro, you are home free.
Remember, nothing counts if it's out of the country!

You should have handed your camera to the seller and told them please take a picture of me accepting the cash. I'm required to document to the lender anything of value I receive in doing my job, and a picture of me accepting $500 bucks is worth a thousand words.

:rof::rof:

I've only had it happen once - and it was disguised as "a rush fee" from the borrower. Called the client immediately, told them the borrower was offering to pay extra for a "rush" and to please reassign as I could not accomodate such a "rush". Handed the phone to the very much chagrined borrower and let him stumble his way through an explanation. They honored my request and sent another appraiser.

This was only the second order from them - and surprisingly, that decline turned into many more orders. I wanted nothing to do with it and that decision paid off in spades.

Was joking before
Seriously this time...

I had some idiot offer me $1000 to add a 3rd bedroom. Told me to BILL HIM ON THE HUD! I mean c'mon already! How stupid is that? Bill me for the bribe?

Nearest gas station had a handly circular file...

Leaving proof on the HUD........ might have been a Fannie official.

I'm interested to know what the AMC had to say if anything.

The "clerk" for the AMC listened to my story. We even joked a little bit. I heard sound in the background like there was typing was going on. Later I checked the web site that is used for updates and I did not see any reference to our conversation. I added my own comment about the bribe. In fairness the clerk could have been putting the information some where in the system that I did not have access to, I did not know for sure if it was noted by the clerk. I made sure that I did.

I did not make any comment about the bribe in the report. I just came in $132,000.00 short of the sales price with the following comment "THE APPRAISER COULD NOT FIND ANY MARKET SUPPORT FOR THE SUBJECT'S CONTRACT PRICE."

All of this to take or not take, who would or would not is fun. HOWEVER, Ray Miller noted in a post a few says ago that his state Attorney General used one of his posts as evidence in his hearing.

His post was unclear as to whether using his post was legal or not sooo.....

PLEASE PLEASE BE CAREFUL what you post here could bite you in the ***!!!!!!!!!!
