Phil Crawford Podcast

OMG, it was not cool of him to mention G Hatch; he was just over the top, wrong. This is a bulletin board- open to all -I can't stand some of the people here, am neutral about others, and greatly admire others here. ( and sometimes feel the conflicting 3 ways about one person!)

But what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. What debates we have on a BB stays on the BB. That is an unwritten code. Or I assumed it was.

I am thinking Crawford may be Jewish. I have a feeling he has a bunch of money.

I turned it off part-way. It is pretty clear D Wiley works for an organization that has gutted appraisers, so as nice and personable as he is, a large public role like that is more out in the public realm- Phil Crawford is right about the effects of Waivers on the market, but he is so dogmatic and in your face that idk if it is counter-productive -I give him credit for putting the issue out there and being blunt aoubt it, to say the least.

Yeah, George was just want more information. He was not trashing Phil. I think that is minor compared to how he attacked Danny. Crawford seemed like George was attacking him. George wasn't doing that. You know George girl.

Yeah, if you don't think Fannie and Freddie are biased parties, you had too much to drink New Years.

Danny is employed by Freddie. I have never heard George is employed by a GSE.

I can't really see George being a biased party. I could be wrong. I have been wrong before.

I did not see it that way at all. I turned the podcast off midway. Maybe on the weekend, I''ll play the other half- Phils bombastic style is hard to listen to,

But I think he did attack George unfairly. Danny, I think, for better or worse, was elected or volunteered to be the face out there that appraisers see when their business is being stripped from them - the other execs stay hidden.

BTW, It is hard to believe as credible a prediction that the waiver increase with the new LTV threshold will be 1-2 % in purchase appraisals - if it is tht small, why are they even bothering? What is telling is when DW admits freddie does not publish the numbers wrt WAIVERS, but the American Enterprise Institute does - where does the AE get their numbers from? Since FF are not publishing the numbers in a clear format to the public consistently, when they do put numbers out, it is often it is in comparison to other numbers.

This again brings up the issue of disclosure. FF is in the risk management business, but we, the people, the taxpayers, UW that risk, yet are not able to pull up on a computer which properties got a WAIVER in a sale.

OTOH, Phil brought out many good points on the main issues on waivers.

Yeah, with me it goes back to truth in lending disclosures to the borrower. It is like commingling of fees and now we offer you a waiver based on WTH?

That puppy will bite. Danny better get ready. That puppy will bite. I assume Crawford may be right on NAR too.
