Tesla drastically cut their prices in past year, thus alienating many Tesla owners. It's not consider a luxury car as in the past.
Used to think Tesla held its value. Elon has short term goals in ramping up profits. Instead of frolicking into politics and his personal affairs, he should work to make Tesla profitable long term.

It never was or is a true luxury car. Pricing wise it competes with luxury vehicles. Tesla gives you technology rather than traditional luxury.

When it came out with Model S, it was unique and luxury car.
Having Tesla, I don't consider it a luxury car having seen its prices dropped for the peasants.
I see it as an innovative car like iphone which changed the world.
Tesla is not just a driving machine but a technical marvel which many car companies will copy.

Model S is not a luxury car other than the price range it is competing. It is priced to compete with luxury cars but you get technology instead of luxury.

You could argue that technology is the new luxury. In that case, I won't argue with it.

The older folks are not as techological as the youngings. Young people love the Tesla technology.
I have harder time to adjust with all those buttons to remember. If it gets more advanced, harder for me to keep up.
I don't care as much for new technology than when I was younger.

Once they make an electric car with an alternator type generator in the spinning wheels to charge the battery without plugging it in so often, that'll be the game changer.
Actually not very efficient. It takes energy of some kind to create electricity.

Well, aren't most cars now technological marvels? My 2003 Ford Escape was pretty much like the cars I had owned previously. My 2014 GMC Terrain AWD had a lot more gee-gaws to ponder-heated seats, tire pressure monitors, adjustable seat, USB port. But my 2022 Ford Escape is nothing like the old Escape AWD. Adjustable seats that remember you, push button start, USB, auto shutoff when idling, dual thermostats, turbo, 3 cruise control settings - including one that automatically slows you down in traffic and speeds back up when free of traffic, keeps you between the lines with driver assist, and frankly, I would just as soon have one that was a bit less electronic. They are insane to repair. And standard transmission. There are only 2 vehicles with standards I've been told. Toyota Tacoma six speed and a standard is available in Jeep.

Unending EV disaster:"Profits at the German auto giant Mercedes plunged on Friday as sales of its slick new range of electric vehicles (EVs) went into freefall. Porsche abandoned its sales targets for battery-powered cars amid waning demand from customers. Ford is losing nearly $50,000 (£39,000) on every EV it sells, while Tesla’s profits dropped 45pc. Meanwhile, battery manufacturers such as Germany’s Varta are getting wiped out. Over the last few days, it has become clear that the EV industry is on the brink of collapse. Hundreds of billions of euros, dollars and pounds have been pumped into this industry by political leaders and the subsidy junkies that surround them – and it is surely time they were held to account for the vast quantities of taxpayer cash that has been wasted."

A sterling example of government centralized command and control edicts crashing on the rocks of reality. Kamala would say I am full of it, I'd say no, I'm just over it.

ICE only. Love my 350 HP Turbo Four, Six Speed, and All Wheel Drive. Love the Sound too. My wife has a Twin Turbo 365 HP V-6. It's an automatic, but has all wheel drive. Why EV?

Besides Tesla, I haven't driven an American brand car for decades.
Only time I drive them is when I'm forced to have them when I rent them on my vacations.
Each time, they remind me not to buy American brand.
