About less than a year ago a neighbor in my sd drove past my house i grey/black tesla. I saw it a few times. Then I did not see it anymore. Until today I was outside talking to jack about it .....that tesla drove by ....it was not black ..no it was a solid Hot Pink!

Also Amazon Delivery uses a Electric Delivery truck. I have seen it a few times.

I have a hybrid suv for appraising. Real world mpg is only a few miles ger gallon above the regular version. It is nice, but hard to sneak up on comps because it "sings" at low speed.

Hybrids yes, but EVs no. A Prius makes a great car for appraisal - very low cost and easy to park. It is hard to justify a 16-21 mpg Ford F-150 for appraisal unless you are just going for a short distance or can get a reasonable fee of $1200+.
Yeah Ford is making their largest investment ever in USA real close to where I live. It is adjoining County. It is very close to me though. Probably within 5-10 miles the way the crow flies.

They bought a bunch of land on Interstate 40 (aka America's highway). They are producing both the ford trucks and electric batteries. The electric batteries will probably fit many cars.

It was Agricultural land when they bought it.

Used for growing crops.

They bought a bunch of land. They will have room to have outparcels for whatever Ford wants to allow.

They are producing the electric or hybrid F-150 along with the batteries at the location. I don't know if it is hybrid or full electric.

They are right on an exit on I-40. Business will be begging to get close by.

Govt probably gave them huge tax break on the investment. Both local and Federal.

Gas prices are all over the place locally. I paid $2.79/ gal this week at one of cheapest places. My little car gets over 33 mpg.

Probably highest prices locally are $3.50/gal. I am close on my estimates. No way it would get over $4.

But some people only like the highest grade gasoline in their vehicle. They don't mind paying more for the higher grade of gasoline. Like $2.79 on one side of street. They pay $3.79 on higher grade of gasoline on other side of street.

They don't want ethanol in their car. Many gas types have like 10% ethanol and disclose it clearly on the gas pumps.

Many people want the highest grade of gasoline they can get.

I haven't shopped premium gasoline at one of the highest grade gasolines locally. Like 93 octane or higher?

Your probably looking at way more than $3.79. Maybe $4.50 or higher.

I'm wrong probably looking at $3.79 for premium gas like shell, exxon, etc.etc on like 93 octane.

They don't put the corn ethanol in some gas.

Like if you spent $100k on a sports car, you would not care about spending a dollar more per gallon for premium gas with no ethanol in it.

You will save a little on mpg. More power when you put pedal to metal.

I do and I love it. I have FREE supercharging if I need it. I mostly charge at home every other day. My electric bill is about $60 more per month since I charge at home. Compared to $500-$600 in gas I use to pay. So, for me its a no brainer. Free car in my eyes and it looks bad ***.

I can see the attraction for you since you stated in another thread that you never drive more than 8-10 miles when appraising. I cover a number of rural areas. 100 miles total for one appraisal is not that unusual

At charging stations, I see many drivers sitting in their cars waiting to be charged. To me, that's inconvenient than quick gas filling.
Sitting and waiting waste productivity.
