Not sure I would go that far, but I was thinking I could report CO actions in more detail than ASC does. But maybe nobody else cares. I was just following up on the "Does anybody know what happened? question posed in the sub-title of this thread. I was interested I that aspect of the thread and expanded my interest to include the possibility that this forum might be a tool to shine light in dark places. Maybe not. Maybe there aren't any dark places or maybe it isn't our job to do it.

Personally, I believe the stories about why these disciplinary actions happened are valuable lessons. All details that we can post here are good.

The problem is the small amount of information that gets published.

Many, many times I have been there for the the hearings, the consent order offer, the probable cause hearing or otherwise known some of the details and the little paragraph or two that gets published does not do justice to the real story. It is hard to reduce a 4 hour hearing to one or two paragraphs.

There seems to be a trend among appraisal boards to give us LESS information as many are reducing or discontinuing their mailed out newsletters and in some cases the website disciplinary actions.

I ain't buying the "no money" story. Same old crap we hear from all ploiticians. It is not so much a lack of money as a lack of common sense as to how and SPEND the money. Very little could ever be done that would be more important than keeping appraisers well informed by whatever methods possible.

So whose was revoked in December?

It will be on the ASC report 30 days after rhey get it from NCAB. It is no secret, I just know because I called to find out what happened.

I am not going to post a name here on my own....but whrn the ASC report comes out...it will be posted.

There will prety much always be a 30+ day lag between what happend at any board meeting and when it gets posted by ASC.


In some cases state boards will give an appraiser 30-60 days to "close out there business".
