TAF and HUD make a deal...PAREA providers win

NYT
DEC. 26, 2018
For many years, Donald J. Trump asserted that it was “ultimately” a high draft lottery number that kept him out of the Vietnam War, rather than a medical condition. But his Selective Service records, obtained from the National Archives, suggest otherwise. He had been medically exempted for more than a year when the draft lottery commenced in December 1969, well before he received what he has described as his “phenomenal” draft number. The Times has created a composite image from scans of the document from the National Archives.

Oooops liar, liar pants on fire...... :rof: :rof:

If there's a fix for the fee appraisers those decisions will be imposed by the govt. Nobody else. That's why I think the CFPB and/or Congress is the more logical target audience for appraiser grievances. They can lean on the FTC to change their interpretation of the C&R elements of D-F.
How hard is it to "interpret" C&R as outlined in DF?

(i)Customary and reasonable fee
(1)In general
Lenders and their agents shall compensate fee appraisers at a rate that is customary and reasonable for appraisal services performed in the market area of the property being appraised. Evidence for such fees may be established by objective third-party information, such as government agency fee schedules, academic studies, and independent private sector surveys. Fee studies shall exclude assignments ordered by known appraisal management companies.

As an aside. Had a FNMA HECM (as-is and as repaired values) appraisal come over AP the other day for the grand sum of $400. First order I've seen from them in years. That's what they paid in the mid 2000's.
I declined. My min fee for a non-complex 1004 is $525 to give you an idea how out of whack that fee is. With all the data they have you think they don't know what a C&R fee should be?

"When we returned, we saw nothing like this," the senator said at a Connecticut rally in support of troops in 2003.

"We have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam," he said at another event in 2008.

that old white male is calling us racists not trump...duh :rof: :rof: :rof:

I have been in the appraisal industry for 25 years, including 15 years as a fee appraiser specializing in rural and waterfront vacant land, single-unit, and 2–4 unit residential properties in Southwest Michigan. For nine years I worked as the Director of the Appraisal Department for a mid-size lending institution, responsible for overseeing all aspects of appraisal operations for the retail and wholesale lending divisions. I then transitioned to residential mortgage lending and have experience in appraisal management, review, training, and underwriting. I am ready for this next challenge and thrilled to have the opportunity to work as a Mentor within the AI PAREA program.

I have over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry, starting with residential renovation, then moving to home inspection, and finally transitioning to residential appraisal specializing in complex, multiunit, and rural properties. Prior to being an AI PAREA mentor, I spent the last eight years as the Assistant Vice President and Residential Review Appraiser for a lending institution. I have presented at the Appraisal Institute’s Annual Fall Conference and have taught real estate appraisal to local lending and real estate professionals in Seattle, WA. I look forward to mentoring AI PAREA participants as they enter this exciting field.

Why have human mentors? Just use an Art Intel mentor at a small fraction of the cost of mouth breathers.

I always agreed with the letter and intent of the verbiage as originally set forth in the legislation. It was the feds in the administrative state who disagreed and interpreted it otherwise. That's the angle I think appraisers should be pursuing.

Fear not fresh meat is on the way for Class, Clear Capital and Solidifi. Courtesy of Kelly Queen kickback to the AI.

Greetings!
I am absolutely delighted to share that last month, AI-PAREA celebrated its first six graduates!

In talking to Sandy Adomatis, 2024 President of the Appraisal Institute, she shared "The first six graduates of AI-PAREA are to be congratulated for their hard work in passing the first of its kind virtual appraisal training program. It took more than two years to develop the program that emulates the practical appraisal experience one would receive from a supervisor. AI-PAREA is not easy and requires participants with perseverance to complete many hours of work after completing 150 hours of qualifying education. I wish the current graduates and those to come the best the profession offers in a career.”

AI-PAREA was the recipient of The Appraisal Foundation's Pathways to Success grant to support the development of a PAREA program that would prioritize aspiring appraisers of color, veterans, women and those willing to work in underserved areas.

It was so invigorating to listen to the Market Moves podcast last week as well where they interviewed two of these first six graduates. I was so inspired hearing these trainee appraisers' stories firsthand. Their determination and grit to earn their credential showcases exactly the qualities we look for in this profession. Please listen to this fantastic podcast here.

Please join me in congratulating these first six graduates of AI-PAREA. This is not only a tremendous personal accomplishment, but also a critical milestone for our profession as we continue to seek new ways to welcome the next generation into the appraisal field.

We look forward to many more graduates of PAREA modules joining them in the years to come.

Sincerely,

Kelly Davids
President
