TAF head Calls Jonathan Miller a Liar

I think they are ready to actually regulate TAF and not let them bypass the ASC by not taking their money. If they took the money, then the USPAP books should be cheaper.
I don't recall the dollar amount of the grants. But if there are 94,000 active licenses then perhaps round up the distribution of the publication to 100,000 when including all the other buyers.

$1,000,000 / 100,000 copies = $10/copy per $million. That's assuming 100% of that money is restricted to offset the costs of publication. Somehow I don't think that's going to make a dent on the opinions of any of the critics. Same with the salaries people are screaming about.

"Mr. Miller has a problem with the truth...often"...that sounds like GH responding to certain posters here....J. Miller for President :rof: :rof: :rof:
When they're deliberately lying it is they who have the problem. Not me.

Perhaps the issue is HOW they work, not HOW they milk the system. So, do you think Jonathan Miller is a liar? Would you call him out publicly if you did? Me neither.
I don't know Mr Bunton. I don't know Mr Miller.

All relationships are conditional, and even if they weren't I don't have any relationships with either. I don't entirely agree with the accuracy of some of Mr Miller's observations but I don't think he's a liar nor would I call him one. I also don't agree with Mr Bunton on everything, either; particularly not in this case.

Bunton is rigging the process for his successor.

"Mr. Miller does have a challenge with the truth...often"...that sounds like GH responding to certain posters here....J. Miller for President :rof: :rof: :rof:

"most of the time when he reports on an article...it's out there...i have tried talk to him...he doesn't want to hear the facts" holy smokes :rof: :rof: :rof:

USPAP is the law, and when sub-adequate people write it, it sets up for corruption and self-serving and entangled with conflict of interests. Paraphrasing, but where have you heard that before?

$40 is still $40 bucks... and the latest tally I have is there are only about 70k active appraisers. Whatever. That money is NOT TAFs cash cow. When is a non-profit not a not for profit organization???
The grants are intended to compensate TAF for the federally-related component of what they do. Not for "USPAP" publications per se. The feds actually are paying to play, precisely because TAF isn't part of the govt.

As for Bunton, the only allegation of misconduct I've seen so far is that his pay+retirement package is excessive for the job title, and the travel costs approach that of other federal officials and politicians. And now he's saying dumb things about having no input WRT BOT appointments or in calling Miller a liar in public.

Burn Bunton at the stake for all I care. AFAICT his departure isn't going to have any affect on appraisal standards or appraiser qualifications. Chopra and company are mouth drooling idiots if they think otherwise.

You know what all this drama reminds me of? All the internal politics and allegations of corruption and conflicts of interest at the Appraisal Institute. And at many or all of the state appraisal boards. All of it attributable to exactly the same reason - people acting like people on both sides of the issue.
