Oh, I'm sure his name has been tossed around. That would give the shills a major hard-on.

he definitely check all the boxes...asb chair, AI, revaa chief appraiser, gse ace

They have run this scam for more than 30 years, and thanks to the internet, Jeremey Baggott as well as some of us on the forum their corruption is finally seeing the light. Even if they survive all of this, they'll be under a microscope from here on in.

LOL "corruption"

With absolutely zero "concessions to corruption" being apparent in the qualifications or standards. If someone has been bribing or buying influence then they have nothing to show for it. They've bought nothing, they've gained nothing.

The worm farmer going after the states for not running the circus for every edition of USPAP - what did anyone at the states gain from that expedience except to save some time/energy only to result in the inevitable and unavoidable foregone conclusion? Nothing. Nobody profited one dime off that, but Baggott impressed you with the gotcha.

Maybe he's paying you to be his shill. Show me the NDA you signed so we can all see.

then your alternative is to have the govt write appraisal standards. As in, not the appraisers.
Why not the system other countries use where the societies write the rules and their members follow that. Then the members have input on those standards and the government can check occasionally to see that the societies actually do check members? Isn't that pretty much the system in many countries? At least it doesn't cost the taxpayers money and it does allow the members to have a bonafide stake in the standard AND that standard is unlikely to change every other year.

Wow, I just finished watching the entire hearing. Bunton has clearly rigged the selection process for his successor. Bunton looked like Nixon when he was debating Kennedy. Under the withering questions from Chopra, he was sweating bullets. Thanks to TAF, the industry seems worse off tonight than yesterday. We need new leadership and standards; most importantly, appraisers must be proactive instead of reactive. Terrel brought up an interesting idea. Hopefully, it can be a starting point. This is certain: whatever happens next, TAF, USPAP, and the ASC cannot have a seat at the table.

you would think that appraisers could have some input in the way TAF operates but they are independent of the government, the states and the appraisers. And I see nothing wrong with the idea that the states should approve every edition of USPAP...and I see nothing with the idea that USPAP should be fixed for no less than 5 years, preferably 10; although at my age it's too late to help me. I see no reason why TAF directors cannot be elected by appraisers themselves or by the state boards at least. Representative government should be that...representative.

Chopra is on the right track opening up ASC's meetings. While he's at it, AARO shouldn't have closed conferences.
