Like you, Elon is allowed his opinion. Unlike you, his opinions have merit strengthened by repeatedly being correct and truthful. And people listen to his.
We shall see if Congress does. So far not batting a thousand for Elon.
 
I'll give you a hint. The people and some very rich help elect Congress. Congress is getting feedback from many rich donors. It is leaning towards this move at last minute looks like an authoritative move.

America don't want an authoritative government. Read just a few sentences in the Constitution of US.

We were created as watchdogs only to have Biden spend 4 years calling us racist bigots and allowing FNMA to take risks that were supposed to be eliminated by FIRREA and then Dodd-Frank. Neither of which has happened.

Anyone note that the George Floyd case is back to court after the defense long argued that the tumor on Floyd's heart contributed to his death, but the prosecution and judge suppressed any info even after doctors testified it might have caused his death? Racist cops - must have planted a tumor in his heart.

Of course you could be an employee and own the company and be employee of it.
 
I betcha the largest chunk of money to be saved is in defense.
I agree with you. It will b every difficult to do though. Lot's of Government Service Employee's GSE's work within the military stateside and overseas. Many are in Admin roles and there can be cuts there. government employees have a union. They maybe could give early retirements and not hire a replacement. Possibly they could consolidate and close some small military bases. Fort Wolters Texas is still owned by by the feds. So I ask AI about Fort Wolters, if it was still active? I attended US Army Flight School there. here is the reply:

The site is now an industrial park with a variety of uses, including a training center for the Texas Army National Guard, a branch of Weatherford College, and a District Parole Office. The Civil Air Patrol also uses the site for Airman Leadership School.
So the above could be sold , but it is still being used.

So around the country there are many military bases that are still in use for training and Unit locations.

So could some of these be closed and sold to the public or corporations, etc? Yes I suppose so. Senators and congress members would not go along with it because many of their constituents aka voters work at these bases. Businesses near these bases rely on the individual service members spending on the local economy.

I think this is to big to fix.

To conclude this above is a small sample of the enormous problem.

Please show me where Trump called appraises that do GSE work part of the swamp.

Politically its hard to do, because most people don't pay attention to details and many are swayed just saying OMG hes cutting from defense. Many people like the waste, even when they are not profiting from it for some reason. I'm guessing its propaganda.
