There is no doubt some significant changes that can be made to almost all the agencies. Locally we have a USDA office where the employees were sent home for Covid and only one person remained in the office, which was usually not the person you needed to talk to, so they gave you a number to call them. To this day, most of the staff has not returned to the office. And WTF do they do? I had one drop by to soil test my farm to make sure I wasn't adding too much chicken litter and create my five year farm plan. What a joke. I can apply 2 T of chicken litter per acre per year. I don't apply half that because my soil phosphorus is already high. Please don't ask about my farm subsidies. There are none. I have to pay for hay tests from the U of A. Only the soil test is free and they created a portal to download the tests but it does not work so you drive to Bentonville and pick up a copy there.

Biden just put a million acres off limits to hunting and shooting - gun free - using an obscure regulation about no hunting on small government parcels, intended to keep folks from hunting close to houses for such as the shorelines of Corp lakes, in town government acreages etc. I was not meant to limit hunting in a large wilderness area.

The EPA keeps forbidding people to build in areas on private land under color of laws that often are beaten in court since such decisions are often arbitrary and unreasonable. OSHA makes rules that are often idiotic. If you are in an industry where metal hardhats are allowed (like forestry) you still have to replace the hat after so many years (5 usually.) Unlike plastic hats, aluminum hats do not deteriorate. straps are supposed to be replaced annually. Actually, OSHA does not make the rule rather they require employers to follow ANSI standards...good old ANSI making money the old-fashion way. Getting the government to mandate ANSI standards to sell to companies.
 
I betcha the largest chunk of money to be saved is in defense.

Without full security clearance, what do Elon knows in depth what the military needs?
Elon hires CFOs who doe the detailed analysis. Elon is wrong person to decide what to cut.

The Ukrainian crew​


Such was the interest in the video of the Bradley taking out the T-90, Ukrainian media found the crew responsible to ask them how they did it.

Their secret – in part at least, video games.

Describing the moment they first saw the tank, commander and gunner Serhiy said: “My heart properly went off.

“In training I said to myself ‘god forbid I see a tank in my sights.’ But it so happens I did, and very close.”

Serhiy describes firing at the T-90 “with everything we had” but then says they had difficulty making headway against it.

He then says: “But as I used to play video games, I remembered everything – both how to hit them and where.”

Safety features​


Bradley combat vehicles are well protected against a range of other threats. Following the war in the Persian Gulf, the US Army began to install special dynamic protection Bradley Reactive Armor Tiles, or BRAT, on its fighting vehicles.

This system is very effective against cluster and some kinetic munitions. For the most part, this is designed to protect the vehicle and its crew from hand-held grenade launchers and anti-tank systems. BRAT defense kits were also transferred to Ukraine, with a system comprising of separate modules. Upon damage to a certain area of its dynamic protection, replacement with a new one is easy.

In terms of crew protection, the US-supplied Bradley cannot even be compared with the Soviet BMP-1 or BMP-2 armored vehicles. The Bradley is much safer, more reliable and more effective on the battlefield.

With Ukrainian fighters, arguably in battle with a far more powerful and better-armed opponent than any Bradley-equipped American force has ever faced, one feature stands out above all others – the vehicle's impressive ability to take a massive hit that would demolish most other armored transporters, and keep the soldiers inside alive.


To improve protection of the crew and troops from debris, the internal surfaces of the hull and turret of the M2A2 ODS-SA are lined with Kevlar padding. Thanks to this reinforcement of armor, the machine has become almost invulnerable in the forward projection to fire from the 30mm Soviet automatic cannon mounted on the BMP-2 combat vehicle.


This improved armoring increased the total weight of the machine and required a new, more powerful 600 hp engine. This allows the 34.2-tonne machine to reach a maximum speed of 61 kilometers per hour.

Elon is given vast powers under DOGE - Even though it is an advisory committee of two billionaires and not an official govt agency, it was created for a reason. Elon knows squat about govt - that is why he recklessly advised Trump to kill the bipartisan funding deal right before Christmas. Maybe Trump would have done it on his own, idk. But I can assume Elon s choices of which to cut programs and people will exclude his own company and his own person -Space X contracts will be expanded and not cut for "efficiency" -

I don't know. CFPB has way more power than Doge relative to the lending world. CFPB could call Elon in as a witness if he gets too crazy.

We just need CFPB on our side. Forget the rest. Congress likes Chopra.

CFPB is strictly focused on consumer financial protection.

CFPB makes the Federal Govt tons and tons of money on consumer financial protection.

Elon has a deep wallet.

They said Elon can't be speaker in congress because he would be in line for President and he was not born in the USA.
