That's really important when one realizes that a solar cell is only 30%+ efficient under laboratory conditions, which makes it a loser generally and only becomes economically significant when the utility charges more than a car payment for a month's worth of electricity usage. Bring on the baby nuke reactors for $.07 a kilowatt hour instead of the $.33 rate I currently enjoy, then I wouldn't have to continually jump in the pool to stay cool.

Heck it was 80 there on December 30th when I went through there a few years ago.

t 105 F it can be as much as a 25% or more decrease

It's not just about getting the power up. The brothers say the poop can lead to warranty issues, which is a bigger problem than just birds.


"The solar panel starts having brown spots on top that burns out the cell, which could void your warranty," said Keserovic. "You've got to read that fine print. Maintenance is required."
