Uad Instruction For "stories" Box

Not in the UAD world my man. If they didn't think 0.1 exists they wouldn't let you put in 0.x. But they do.

Don't get mad at me that the Gov. Is inept.

Argument from silence. Why would they invest money to limit that when no one would put that because it doesn't exist. We could put that our house was made of real Krypton from Superman's world. Do you think there is a fear of that happening? Keep it real, man.

Stick built underground home, think bunker, where they just have an observation area on ground level big enough to put a bean bag chair to observe stars, atmosphere or whatever their LSD mind is tripping on.

Whatever....then if that's what it is, they allow you to put it there. Anyway it's nice to see that you agree. It's not just 1.0 or 2.0.

Sorry, but the UAD specification specifically delineates a difference between "levels" and "stories" and your common dictionary definition certainly does not work in the appraisal world (think about 3 or 4 level split levels - these are certainly not 3 or 4 story homes)

Not a 3 or 4 story home:

UAD Appendix D: Field

OMG....Do you not read what you C&P? Oh that's right, you don't copy all of it. Let me take a screen shot

Let's look at what you deceptively left out.
# of Stories....look at the forms now. It's applicable to Single Family Unit (as well as for condos in the Project Information section)

And now let's look at the Reporting format for SF...again, deceptively left out. # of Stories>>>Numeric to 2 decimal places.

Your post refers to Levels of Condos Only, not single family...and only for the field that is located in the Unit Description Section of the 1073 and 1075 Condo forms

Now lets go to the other page of instruction for this REQUIREMENT

Oh my....again for # of Stories we are to go to 2 decimal places. And look at 2 of the 3 Story Examples>> 1.75 & 3.5

Any questions or should I include a bouncing ball next post?

2 Story - Split Level (3 levels GLA)
Split levels (both 3 level and 4 level splits) are a 1 story home. The 2 top levels (not stories) are GLA, which is approx the foundation size (and any overhang). Below the main level, (where the kitchen is located) is basement. They are just offshoots of a Ranch...basically a ranch that has one half of it raised a 1/2 story higher.

Basements are not considered a story

We have 5 level splits everywhere now. 2 basement levels, Entrance level with lr,dr,kitch etc. up 1/2 flight of stairs to master br level and up another 1/2 flight of stairs to remaining bedrooms and baths, From the outside they look like a 2 story. How many stories and which story would the 4th level master br be on. Just another twist in this thread that has become a story about stories
