Easy way to answer that is the foundation and any bump outs is the main level of 1.0. If the kitchen level, the master level and the remaining bed/bath floors add up to more than the foundation plus any bump outs, than you add it to the 1.0. Example: the foundation is 1000 sf. The top 3 GLA levels add up to 1,500 sf.... then you have a 1.5 story home. It would look like: DT1.5; Split Lvl on the Grid.We have 5 level splits everywhere now. 2 basement levels, Entrance level with lr,dr,kitch etc. up 1/2 flight of stairs to master br level and up another 1/2 flight of stairs to remaining bedrooms and baths, From the outside they look like a 2 story. How many stories and which story would the 4th level master br be on. Just another twist in this thread that has become a story about stories
