Walgreens closing more stores in SF

While I was waiting for my dinner takeout, I went to the Walgreens to be close in few weeks.
Walgreens is the major anchor store on the block. Without it, there will be fewer foot traffic.
While at the store, I noticed not many customers compared with typical Walgreens.
This block is relatively safe and few crime and I believe Walgreens is closing their stores because of low profitability.
The competition from online and Target, Walmart, & such has hurt Walgreens' bottom line.

The only good thing was the tax reform which saved me tens of thousands of dollars.

My daughter took a college trip with her friend to Chicago and she was impressed how it was safe and "cleaner" than SF.
She had a great time there and enjoyed the place and people were nice.
I haven't been there but Chicago sounds like a great place to visit.

Being cleaner than San Francisco isn't a hard bar to clear. Just don't poop in the streets and you're already ahead of the game.

A Safeway in SF is closing early 9 PM because of the shoplifting. Another store affected.
Los Angeles has highest number of organized theft crime and SF is second.
But SF has highest cost. Many of the stores have items locked up in glass shelves but the stealing continues.
