Walgreens closing more stores in SF

Yesterday, the looters stole $40,000 clothes from Lululemon and then went to a nearby mall and stole $7,000 worth of sunglasses. By time police got there, looters were gone.
Their car license plates were covered.
These masked criminals are smart and know what items to steal.

Walgreens use to be AAA tenant when I look for investable commercial properties.
Now in SF, many Walgreens have closed their stores because of the rampant thefts and high cost in security. Their policy is not to confront the criminals and organized crime has taken advantage of the stealing.
I knew the referendum California passed in 2014, which downgraded theft of property to a misdemeanor as long as its value is $950 or less would result in more thefts but I didn't anticipate these big box stores to close.
Target as well as CVS has same stealing problem and is resulting in high lost in revenues.

I have a commercial rental and the lost of Walgreens on my block will result in less foot traffic.
It not only hurt the commercial rents in area but seniors needing their prescription drugs have to find further proximity to get them.
Local politicians and DA office and police need to be more supportive and need more enforcement to deter the criminals.
It's tough to operate commercial business in SF.
I read some of the comments...what a bunch of stupid people...

Mirror, mirror on the wall................

The criminals outsmarted the politicians with the under $950 shopping lifting rule being only charged as a misdemeanor.
If 50 people rushed into a store and steal less than $950 ($949 x 50 = $47,450), it pays to do the crime.

Not hard to do when the politicians are brainless
I think politicians put it on the ballot and CA voters passed it.
I knew sneaky criminals would take advantage of the kindness of CA voters.

I'd have armed men stationed at strategic areas around these stores immediate locations. It'd be expensive and the city needs to pick up the tab. If these politicians want to let human debris run amok, then bring back the 20's and we can have some really major gunfights in the streets.

The police vowed they will catch the thieves. Then what, charge a misdemeanor?
If looters can get away with stealing less than $950 a day, it's more profitable than being an appraiser.

Yesterday, smash & grab occurred in Palo Alto in a high end consignment store and jewelry store.
The stolen loss in Nordstrom over the weekend was about $100,000.
To get together 80 looters sound like organized crime. LA is number one city in organized retail crime. SF is number 5.

Those stores are going to close. Somebody needs to wake up.
