No, it isn't. The bank "owns" it....They only can live there so long as the make payments. When they pay it off they can tell the appraiser to kiss off.

I would have walked too. I would have told them to put the baby down and I will be quiet when I check the room.

I have a job to do. They can show up for the appointment just like me or call, they have my cell number or call call the client and get it right quick. I will do the same. If I am half way there, no problem...things happen. Once I am there, then a baby isn't going to be an issue unless they make it one.

Understandable. Doing interiors first have caused me to miss things at first glance in the past. Lesson learned. This was a 3000 to 4000sf 100yr+ Victorian multi. Maybe a different animal than you're envisioning.

These are a pain to measure, agreed. Maybe if it was an easier measure, then you can walk inside for a minute without losing track of where you are and they can put down the baby. Regardless, the minute the husband copped the 'tude, I too would have also walked away. Somebody mocking me and asking if "I had a problem?" seriously? "no, no problem at all....bye!"

Yeah, quick walk in, photo of the nursery and back outside, problem solved. Things to remember. Judging from the wife's urgency though, it sounded like I couldn't be in the house during the sacred nap but would have been worth a shot.

I guess thats why theyre called Mass-#@!^$ up here.....oooohh a Victorian 2 unit. Seriously, you couldnt have drawn a reasonable interior sketch & then matched it to your exterior measurements....sorry, but you were in the wrong. I hope its just that you had a bad day.

I totally disagree. He had an appointment to do an inspection of this property. He should have been allowed to do said inspection. Gee, these people had a baby! Wow...I raised a son and a daughter and have a grandson....a baby taking a nap is not a new fad! The baby will recover if they miss a few minutes of nap...give them a year or two and just try to get them to lay down! This is just a bunch of crap. Let the appraiser do his/her job!

I remember the home where we arrived to do an inspection. We were greated with two large mean dogs barking and lunging at us as soon as we stepped from the car. The owners were in the front yard watching the dogs and us. I asked them to put the dogs up. They said the dogs were not a problem. I wished them a good day and we loaded up and drove off. I do not have a clue if they ever had someone appraise their home or not. Hey, and I do not care! Was it Ron White that said you cannot cure stupid?:icon_mrgreen:

Why didn't you pull the house sketch from the tax records before going out there?

I always inspect the interior first so I don't track dirt, leaves and crap through the house. Also people are usually only home for a "lunch hour" which means they took off work early and have to get back in 30-40 minutes so by inspecting the interior first they can lock up and leave me to finish the exterior. The borrower is paying for your time, you should be more flexible.
