Im with Wimpy. I'm buying Bass on sale.

HA!

Well I merely went from Stella to Fosters, which was about as far as I could take it.

I simply can't do that...Rumor has it that switching from Chimay to Budweiser causes seizures.:)

Wait a minute Mr. New Yorker....Chimay????? It even sounds girly.

http://www.wittyswine.com/sku00146...._campaign=CHIMAY (BELGIUM) BEER GRAND RESERVE

$9.99 for 25 ounces of beer?

When normal folks talk about switching from good beer to bad beer they are switching from Budweiser ($16/case) to Milwaukee's Best or Hamm's ($10/case).

Chimay....$119 for an equivalent case of beer? I think if you read the fine print on that pricey brew bottle it says you should shave your legs before drinking it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

As for cutting costs....Budweiser just had a $4 rebate per case;

AC set at 78, but not turned on as it still gets to 65 at night;

Doing a lot more proofreading on the computer vs. printing off pages to proof;

Having the wife pick up misc groceries on her way home from work instead of me making special trips to the store;

I have reduced male bonding nights at the CC to 2 a week;

Showers once a week whether I need one or not!

Normal folks have no appreciation for quality beer.

Geez Tim your a member of a CC....things must be going good over there in Monroe! One thing I will not cut back on is my beer....maybe I should try the Beast!

Canceled FAx Line in favor if internet fax (saved $49)
Moved Land Line and internet from AT&T to my cable provider(saved $104)
Switched from Legal to Letter Paper ($35)
Turned down water heater, shut off Heated drying on dishwasher, thermostat to 78, turned off Flood Light on Flag and just bring it in now, all compact fluorescent bulbs throughout house, Quit using my Bunn coffee pot that keeps the water hot. Turn off computer at night now (have not done that in 20 years).

First month electric savings was almost 20%
I was wondering about electricity costs, I thought I heard that you could expect to save 40% by shutting off all appliances that are constantly plugged in (even though turned off still drain energy). I keep my printer and copier turned off until I need them. We also switched to mostly cf bulbs throughout the house, but my savings didn't add up much last month with 100 degree temps - even with temp set on 78-80 (supposed to hit near 100 again today). Thinking about getting the add-on device that burns hydrogen installed on my car - supposed to increase mileage by about 40%. Either that or buy a hybrid. Land line phone bill keeps edging up, that may be next in line for axing.

Maybe people from Iowa. Chimay is taking it to the extreme, but calling Budweiser "good beer" is just not right.

I bought a Kodak all in one to replace my Fax and old all in one....ink lasts twice as long and only costs $10 for black and $14 for color.....nice piece of equipment.

Dave- I have been drinking Chimay for over 20 years- it has held up well in relation to other prices. I think the 20 years ago it was $6.99 a bottle.

True story, the wife of one of my friends makes fun of us for drinking this fancy beer- she meets somebody from Belgium and asks her if she ever heard of it. She says why yes, we used to go to the Abby for Beer and cheese! Classic.
