I'm not trying to disrespect the law and fire community....
But in many towns and cities in my area these jobs are legacy jobs....
Why would that be????
$$$$$/early retirement/great bennies/etc....
Why wouldn't they want their kids to get into the field????
Not the point. If your opining that people charged with public trust should put that duty before $

You brought up cops/fire....
My thread focuses on AF member appraisers.....

Far be it for me to suggest Public Trust before fees....

Oh I see. I get it now. You just want to shame AF appraisers into feeling guilty about being guardians of public trust and defending themselves for expecting a decent wage while doing so

Fees..aka a paycheck

PS. Shame on you

I'll be the 1st to admit fees are #1 with me....
I can't remember posting any comment in my time as an AF member about Public Trust....

Of course appraisers can value both but both can't be #1 in their hearts....

Right?

That’s just crazy talk UCB
:eyecrazy:

If you have 5 - 10 years to go and your goal is to squeeze as much money out of the profession as you can before you leave, then all you care about is fees and you are a greedy SOB. If you have 20 - 30 + years to go or are leaving soon but want to see that the profession has a future, then the reputation / public trust of the profession is just as important and maybe more important than fees.

Tell me more about the correlation between years left working in the profession and how it necessarily relates to one choosing fees versus reputation / public trust? :)

I think public trust and fees are related anyways.
