Umm Trump hates California "Mark Harvey, who was Trump’s senior director for resilience policy on the National Security Council staff, told E&E News on Wednesday that Trump initially refused to approve disaster aid for California after deadly wildfires in 2018 because of the state’s Democratic leanings." Now his is pointing the finger with no solution and no empathy for the people who have lost everything. Now is not the time, once the fires are out, rebuilding needs to happen, or at least shelter for the displaced.

Ummn, please don't tell me what Trump threatened to do, aid was approved and delivered. I once threatened my kids that they couldn't go to the movies if they didn't clean their rooms....they did.

Maybe California can indict him and charge him with 34 felony counts for threatening....

One can only imagine the restrictive requirements in place when these homes will be rebuilt.

In most places that are fire prone, new builds and remodels, new roofs etc, are required to be somewhat fire proof. Stucco, tile roofs, etc. But that is after the fact. An awful lot of homes don't fall under this because they were built before it was requires. Also, if the fire is hot enough, it doesn't matter.

I hope I am wrong, but California was not/is not a recalcitrant child that needs to be threatened. He will be/was the president ot the United States, not Some of the States. Also, Trump isn't presdient yet. Biden has already pledged to cover expenses.

I predict nothing will change. Not just in LA, but in the country at large. As long as the Feds issue a blank check every time somebody loses a dime, people will build in fire and hurricane and flood prone areas, farmers will claim to be inept and hungry every time their income dips from record highs, and people fully capable of paying their own way will continue to collect food stamps, free phones, and Section 8 housing while refusing to work. A nation of beggars should not be expected to be honest and honorable. Regardless of which party has the upper hand in controlling the power of theft.
