Wild Fires In LA

Yea I'm against hiring based on the color of ones skin regardless of which way it goes. I will say that bragging about hiring someone because they are black or hispanic and hiring someone because they are white gets a totally different reaction. One gets celebrated, the other gets prosecuted.
That's because one is good discrimination and the other is bad discrimination.

On another note...during the presser with Biden signing the disaster declaration he tells Camela to "Fire away, no pun intended." LOL! Watching this old fool trying to read the phone number to call is priceless, typical senile dementia.

I think I know where Biden get his math and reading skills....

Being not PC did not help prevent what happened in NC during Hurricane Helene.

I am not a fan of hiring anybody who is less competent for DEI or any other reason.
On the other hand, a number of white men turn out to be incompetent in their job or a leadership role or are corrupt, and we see the bad outcome from it numerous times. Yet nobody accuses them of being hired for favoritism, yet they might have been.

Case in point, perhaps.
Though idk if the California wildfires could have been prevented or prepared for better with a different governor, including a conservative one. It didn't help the other states when their disasters hit.
The best outcome from this is if there is a comprehensive plan for a rebuild to be more fire resistant inclined, if possible with eliminate so much brush in the surrounding area.

Not exactly, salt water can go more damage than good and not just to the equipment (hoses, trucks, planes, helicopters, ect). Salt is corrosive and the salt has to go somewhere....meaning it could damage vegetation, fresh water sources where the run off eventually will end up, streets, walks, ect.

Obviously it has nothing to do over concern about replacing fittings.

The desalination plants in Israel produce 100s of thousands of gallons of fresh water. As wild fires have affected coastal California for ever, not sure why this has never been done, especially now that the technology exists. But the politicians have chose to spend the tax dollars elsewhere and the citizens continue to vote them in.

Maybe new Senator Schiff will offer some answers, some are "In plain sight".
They are planning on using the sea water because its better than using nothing.

There is a major difference between a hurricane and a wildfire. Not much you can do to mitigate the damage done by a hurricane. But proper planning and taking the necessary steps can help mitigate the situation in California

Seams to me that they are a little late.

That is the difference between diaster response between Florida and CA.

Agree, saving lives, homes, ect. comes first.

My point was/ is that saltwater does/ can do extreme damage and that is why its use is avoided, if possible. Also, Florida has hundreds of treatment plants to desalinate and minimize this problem, which is why, as you state, they have "minimal " effects.

Since CA has not seen fit or is not able to put similar programs in place, adapting the Israeli technology to store up fresh water for these wild fires is an alternative.

Florida recognizes and plans for these inevitable disasters.
There are many problems with using desalinated water, including the desalination process. Isreal is experiencing them now. Also, more water would not have prevented the current fires. California has access to more fresh water than Isreal. I am sure this has been looked into by California's water board.

Did you read the part about the winds being too high for the planes to safely fly?

Neither Newsom nor Brown have viewed forest or manzanita clearing as priorities. Newsom is focused on battling modern windmills, aka climate change, rather than common sense policies that are effective.
