I was simply chiding your "great country" observation. Abortion has been with us since long before recorded history. You know what happens when you outlaw something like that. The same thing that happens when you outlaw premarital sex, alcohol, or drugs. You simply turn a large percentage of your citizens into outlaws. The activity will still take place, albeit in an unsanctioned, unsafe, & illegal manner.

The Democratic Party wrt Biden running again had a place in this travesty of getting Trump elected. Harris should not have been the candidate.

Far from a popular mandate, a number of independents and others voted for Trump because they did not trust Harris, and she was too aligned with Biden and his unpopular reign.

I believe that if the Democrats had Mark Kelley as the candidate we might have won

The problem with anyone other than Harris running in place of Biden is the legal issue. Harris was on the ticket during the primary, so technically people had voted for her. Anyone else would have to go through a kind of primary of some sort and there was not enough time.

I understand. The problem traces back to the hubris of Biden - if he had not run as he initially promised to, the Democrats could have held a primary with perhaps a different outcome.
