And one of those Nordic countries (Norway) pays for its Universal Health healthcare and generous retirement plan by nationalizing its hydrocarbon resources and funneling the profits towards those programs. I don't know why Americans put up with multinational corporations pumping and selling all their oil out from underneath them onto the world market. Most Americans would be economically better off with a plan like Norway's.

American capitalism was great for settling a new continent. Resource extraction is easy, and when the environment is given short shrift enormous profits can be extracted without regard for future generations. Kill or swindle all the original landowners, cut down all the forests, strip mine all the land, pump out all the hydrocarbons, and leave all the problems associated with robber baron capitalism for future generations to take care of. We're past that phase now, and we need to shift gears towards an economic system which is more sustainable, and with outcomes that are less stratified.

Some of the worst polluters on the planet are not-the-capitalists.

There is no system of govt that can be any more virtuous than it's rule of law will support. Human nature is always the weak link.

Production and wealth isn't a problem it's the way it's distributed and that's something neither party is willing to work on.

That's why Communism under the banner of Socialism will end up winning over voters unless the Alternatives are better.

There will be an-alternative coming but we're not quite there yet maybe a few more years when that major decision will be made. We're getting close to the breaking point were Capitalism or Socialism won't be the only choice we have.

Alt Right is the new conservative and Leftist is the new liberal. There's very few old centrists in either party that pretty much left years ago.

JFK would be called Alt Right by todays Socialist Democrats and Reagan would be called a Rino by todays Republicans. We're all going harder left or harder right the word bipartisan should be banned from the dictionary it's stupid and fake.

We needed to charge other countries for access to our market and use that money to retrain and retool our workers who were displaced. Not just throw them on the trash heap and abandon them to alcohol and drug abuse.
