ACI just down or out of business

It's tough watching this in real time. Per FB posts AMCs are pulling files and (understandably) pulling ACI appraisers out of rotation until this is resolved. Even worse (from what's been posted) the AMCs will not pay for work done. And there has been zero communication from ACI. It's just a guess on my part but given the timeline of the most recent industry hack coupled with the time of year, ACI will be down a couple of weeks at best. If I were an ACI user, I would take advantage of the offers from other software providers to get back up before I lose a client permanently. And I would keep track of every pulled assignment, emails from clients who are pulling ACI users out of rotation, and any issues that pop up just in case there is a lawsuit down the road.

The lack of response from anyone at ACI, even to just acknowledge the situation is embarrassing and poor business at a grand level. Whoever has decided to say nothing should be fired right now. I've been with ACI since it was Richard Heyn and Assoc - the beginning. Never had any real reason to change. The lack of any communication is pitiful in this case. They couldn't even bother to put up a phone message.

Clickforms is great. I had total before for years and hated all the crashing. Get the free trial of Bradford Tech
Have always used Clickforms. Very minimal issues. They have a buy one year get second year free promotion right now

Very poor management with ACI, they could at least post some messages, change the voice mail, notify us of some work arounds, why do they need to be network connected to First American?, all that does is add more layers of complexities and issues like hacking. I will have to switch; how long do we wait? I am sure Bradford and WinTotal is smiling about this. LOL

I just got an email from a lender client who I do occasional direct order work for - now I know why it is an occasional order - apparently, they use an AMC for their orders, and the email was this AMC ( a huge one ) was the victim of a Cyberattack and because many of their appraisers use ACI, so, therefore, systems were taken down-

THIS is what happens when too much is taken away from live humans and away from licensed professionals with a responsible interest - ( appraisers ) and delegated instead to third-party profiteers who automate as much as possible to skim $ = Idk if this cyber attack included reports out for funding, but with products such as desktops where nobody lays eyes on a property or its owners, I could imagine hackers targeting them for fraudulent loans - small equity lines of credit or second mortgages that can close digitally without too many noticing - at least right away.

My parting advice to y'all, before "ignoring" this entire thread, is to take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the holiday season. Don't be like the Lemmings rushing over that cliff when "mass hysteria" takes over. And if you downloaded that new appraisal software ... well, I am guessing that a couple of hours trying to "reinvent the wheel" should sober you up and you will see that waiting this situation out, at least at this point, is the better - and more sane - option.

Oh, and to those of you angry at ACI - ACI is just a tiny cog in the First American wheel - and they have no more responsibility for what happened than you would for being robbed after getting held up at gunpoint.

Toodles!

All true...but does not excuse "going dark" without any communication .... IMHO

Most companies use voip for phones. So when their IT systems go down. So do the phones. They were pretty quick creating a new website. Which was obviously independent of their primary system
