I know in ACI I can import a PDF as the file. Can any other software do this? If so what and anyone have a tutorial for it?

I can import a pdf into an exhibit page in Clickforms. All I have to do is right click on the exhibit cell

My parting advice to y'all, before "ignoring" this entire thread, is to take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the holiday season. Don't be like the Lemmings rushing over that cliff when "mass hysteria" takes over. And if you downloaded that new appraisal software ... well, I am guessing that a couple of hours trying to "reinvent the wheel" should sober you up and you will see that waiting this situation out, at least at this point, is the better - and more sane - option.

Oh, and to those of you angry at ACI - ACI is just a tiny cog in the First American wheel - and they have no more responsibility for what happened than you would for being robbed after getting held up at gunpoint.

Toodles!
I don't use ACI.....but if you do, and don't have any appraisals you're working on, I'm sure it'll be fine.

But if I was in the middle of three assignments and now the vendors are pulling the plug and reassigning them, not compensating you for the work you've already done, ACI not answering any of their customers calls.... I believe that taking a deep breath is not going to work....

Will installing another software program cause conflict with the current one?

Which is the simplest appraisal software? I do not need fields to be auto populated or any other bells and whistles. Just the basics.

Someone with 6 assignments due by Christmas, deep breaths are not going to work.
If you cannot communicate, you cannot communicate...you do understand what ransomware does, right?
We all have an idea of what ransomware does. Sure, they're a small piece of First American, but not one employee at ACI can create a new twitter profile/facebook page or write to CNN and provide some communication? Lack of communication on this is why they will lose business, not the face that it's happening.

Their phones and computers are shut down. The creation of a comment on social media via some third party source, hardly means anything coming from such an unofficial source. The breach is company-wide, and that probably restricts what actions they can take. If ransomware, they either have to pay the Russian hackers or try to duplicate all their records on new computers. First American's firewall was obviously breached and it is easy to do and hard to fix. This is almost certainly not a simple crash of the system.
