ACI just down or out of business

In that brief period yesterday when they were on line, did anyone create an XML file and send to a client ? Do we know those are safe files for the end user ? A little communication, just a little would go a long way. There are ways to communicate with us...as simple as creating a profile here. If I stay with ACI I expect something for staying...say some free choice credits or half off renewal fee, etc.

Yes, I did. 6 of them as a matter of fact. I had them "lined up and ready to go" for the moment ACI went back online. It was a pain in the rear notifying all of the clients about the coming delivery delays beforehand. Fortunately, the "decks are clear" for next week. Hopefully they will re-connect the servers after the weekend. :D

I sent mine Friday night. To my knowledge my xml and my env delivered fine. They were both cleared on the lenders end.

MEMO TO: Everyone complaining about the lack of communication from ACI about all this:

1. I second what Terrel has said about their phone and website and email all being down, and add this additional point that seems to be escaping y'all:

2. ACI is a tiny subsidiary of First American. First American has created one single website for updates. I am certain they prohibited any subsidiaries from giving separate updates.

We are all frustrated about this, but y'all need to remember that ACI is a tiny player being held hostage both by the cyber criminals and by the policies of their parent on how they are handling this. And if y'all have $$$ and time to burn buying and then learning your new software - knock yourselves out. But that new software is not going to be a single percentage point safer from what happened to ACI. Its "Russian Roulette" when it comes to these cyberattacks.

Y'all are kicking ACI when its down through no fault of its own. (I'd hate to be married to any of you. Call me "Been there, Done that".) :rof:

Black Cat is the dark website that is attacking the FBI and the FBI has hacked into their system so they are fighting for control of the websites. The FBI did free a number of encryption keys and have put some folks back on line.

The U.S. Justice Department (DoJ) has officially announced the disruption of the BlackCat ransomware operation and released a decryption tool that more than 500 affected victims can use to regain access to files locked by the malware.
Court documents show that the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) enlisted the help of a confidential human source (CHS) to act as an affiliate for the BlackCat group and gain access to a web panel used for managing the gang's victims, in what's a case of hacking the hackers.
The confiscation effort involved collaboration and assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies from the U.S., Germany, Denmark, Australia, the U.K., Spain, Switzerland, and Austria.

That is probably the case.

why dont they come on here and post... :rof: :rof: :rof:
I think Alsie suggests that perhaps they are not authorized to say anything. Again, they are, like Total, entirely owned by a much larger firm. And it is almost certain that the hackers are targeting the bigger firms for the bigger payoff in ransom...which you pay in bitcoin or other digital and untraceable currency.

Don't care, they are making THEIR problem YOUR problem. Not cool at all.
