ACI just down or out of business

This year, a local city in Bay Area got hacked. Don't know if city paid the ransom.
This month my dental insurance company got hacked and now offering me free two years of credit check.
Companies got to keep evil criminals out of their system constantly.
 
"Please do not quote if you’re using ACI Software. We are aware the ACI software is back up and working however, due to continued security concerns with ACI software we cannot accept ANY report completed using ANY ACI software at this time."
This came from an AMC..?? I know people never want to, but can you share who these delightful people are so that I may never consider accepting any work from them?
 
Executive decision just made after consultation with business partner/wife and a couple of days of thinking it over:

On January 31, 2024, we will be officially switching to Clickforms ... (til then we'll be using it for FREE! :LOL:
 
If ACI goes down, there will be one less competitor.
Am I happy with Alamode? No
Product was great decades ago but somehow it doesn't feel right.
When a business becomes the leader, there will be lack of innovation and making a better product.

Yes, and there are a few other examples out there. Considering the nature of the breach ANY tech department would recommend not accepting any files until more is known.
 
This just came over from ACI. Man, they better have a whole lot more than just “appreciating our patience & understanding” to offer when the dust settles on this. And it sounds like there’s more issues they’re fixing, too…

We recently experienced a cybersecurity incident that required us to proactively take certain systems offline. As of 8:00 PM ET on 12/28/2023, all ACI Report and Report Pro features are functioning normally.

Additionally, all enterprise applications are back online. Sky Report, Sky Review, Sky Delivery, and our Jobs API are actively processing transactions and delivering files. ACIweb.com is also back online and processing transactions.

We are still working to restore access to our customer support team. Additional updates will follow. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work towards complete restoration of all services and support.

I completely understand your frustration. But to be honest. I just can't figure out what more you want or need and what difference would it make.

Discount on future subscription or else many will jump ship to competitor.

Well, an idea as to how they plan to compensate their clients, many of whom had to spend hard earned money for a problem that, relatively speaking, was resolved in a short time frame. Better decisions, different decisions, and certainly our clients’ ability to handle it better, could all have been made easier by simple, regular, communication.

I do not buy the notion that they could not find a better, far more detailed, effort than that single First Am webpage that didn’t even average an update per day.

Amends need to be made, not mere, “Hey, thanks a bunch for bearing with us!”. A lot of people will forgive, but a show of good faith will go a long way in making that happen.

Or, maybe they don’t care if ACI survives, I don’t know. But if they do care it’s not coming across…
