Anyone Going To Valuation Expo ** Las Vegas In August ?

It’s not a big deal, they’ll Just take the difference out of the appraisers end.

Unless they seriously change the direction of expo, I’ll never go back. Like you said, I had a chicken sandwich and a soft drink at the Caesars food court and it was $50.

I’m sure it’s steak and high limit table games for the breakfast club

Maybe Mej is at the expo and waiting to report back?? :rof:

The Ministry Of Truth? The Government, Police, & Media-Monitoring

It was only a matter of time...

The Telegraph published this headline yesterday:Exposed: Labour’s plot to silence migrant hotel critics.

The report concerns a team from the ‘National Security and Online Information Team (NSOIT)’, based in the Department of Science, Innovation and Technology. During last summer’s riots, NSOIT was tasked with monitoring ‘concerning narratives’ on social media and flagging them to technology companies such as TikTok for potential removal.

... can't stand all those conspiracy theories coming true :ROFLMAO:

They’ve been holding the expo for a few decades, did anybody here go 15 or 20 years ago? How was the turnout? I heard it was very beneficial, Everyone I know that went 15 years ago picked up new clients. That’s the point of a professional trade show , not to invite people and then charge them to hear about how they’re gonna be replaced.

We thought appraisers wanted truth and transparency brought out into the open and so they told you how your going to be replaced and your pissed off. I'm missing something because their giving you a head start to be able to either restructure your outdated business model or to get a new career going.

Like your attention is worth anything, haha
You hit a little below the belt there but I can handle it.

I don't know why I associate the lady with valuation expo. I just do.

She had a huge impact on appraisal profession and could have had a huge impact on separation of fees on truth in lending disclosures. You don't get called to testify before Congress unless you have some power and recognized as someone to testify.

She was a licensed appraiser at one time. She is pretty, but I don't think that is why she got called and also advertised for valuation expo.

If I met her in person, the first thing I would tell her is how pretty she is before I dug in deep on separation of fees.

Swag bag says..

Lots more AI companies represented as vendors, Servicelink and Class Valuation are hiring staff appraisers, and software companies seeming like they might be near ready for the roll-out of the new UAD.

Interesting to see Solidifi back as a larger sponsor this year, and I’m curious how they handle or even talk about switching the D in the ADI initiative from “diversity” to “development”. I think they should have stuck to their guns, cause both developing and diversifying this workforce is necessary, but I get they go with whichever winds fill their sails.

I do hope we get to see more PAVE graduates or new trainees this year, cause it would be nice to see progress from anything that gets more people into whatever we are becoming as an industry.

This is a real challenge. A good place to start is change the culture around trainees and start paying them a reasonable salary out the gate. Then the "diversity" thing will resolve itself because the industry will be more appealing. Otherwise, that diversity is going to diversity into software or plumbing where they can make 3x the starting pay...

Why would class be hiring parea grads? Aren’t they an AMC?

I attended the one in 2003 and 2004 that was in Miami. A bunch of AF posters got together for a few drinks.
Always thought it would be fun to get a group together and guess who was who.

Most AMCs have W-2 appraisers as employees and seperate independent fee appraisers vendor panels. PAREA is trained and targeted to be employed not to become independent self employed fee appraisers. They need real jobs that have steady pay and benefits.
