Are Staff Appraisers paid customary and reasonable fees?

No, he is not salaried and DOL documents show that his specific job cannot be classified exempt. He stocks store shelves with liquor. Merchandising. Paid by the hour.

But this happens all the time. I know someone who works very high-level sales. We have had arguments about how independent contractors can be treated. It's astonishingly clear that they treat their independent contractors like employees (not giving them freedom to accept/decline work).
I see the same things and don't condone or defend it in any way. However, I doubt the picture looks any less sinister if you were to present the theft from employers by employees. It is a two-way street.

"Stealing time" is not theft. It's on the employer to give you work and supervise. Did you not see the picture where wage theft dwarfs larceny, burglary, theft, etc?

Delete. I need to change my username. Bleh.

I told one of my bosses that I stop working at 3pm because I do the most work out of the team and I deserve it. Why would I do more without getting paid more? I was able to review 2x as many appraisals as some of the other employees. He didn't like it, but what was he going to do? That is not time theft.
To each his own! Certainly not something I would brag about!

It wasn't bragging. It was just showing the imbalance between employer and employee. I was productive, so my boss was perfectly fine with me "stealing time" But payment is arranged beforehand based on a contract and the rule of law. You can't take someone's pay away because they aren't working to your standards. You have to fire them and find someone else.

I saw somewhere else where you indicated that you do appraisals for cheap. I assume you carry the same sentiment into those assignments and tailor your efforts to ensure that you are being paid what you believe you are worth. Carry on!

I just had an interview with a company called equipmentshare for a remote RE analyst. unlimited PTO. full benefits. Paying $110,000. I will not get it because they want more commercial experience but it would be a good job to apply for.

When you work for yourself, nobody tells you what to do and nobody takes a cut of your labor. I accept those 'cheap' orders with pride! I have pride in my work. I wouldn't accept an order if I didn't want it.

My problem with the workplace environment is that you get equal pay for unequal work. The person who goes above and beyond is not rewarded with more pay. I learned this at my very first job at Jewel Osco. I cleaned the shelves so well that my boss made me clean shelves ALL DAY once a week. He specifically told me so.

It's not PCV Murcor. I think this company puts us as "staff" so they don't have to disclose in the report what the appraiser is paid. But, we get paid per report...with bonuses for reaching certain #s in a day or weekend.

I never thought it was another employees business what I was paid nor was it any of my business what they were paid.
