Calling for an appraiser boycott nationwide for a week

I've been boycotting AMCs for 32 years.

I'm already boycotting them. What are YOU doing supporting them for the other 51 weeks?

My boycott is going on 45 weeks here. Most appraisers that can afford not to work for them already DON'T work for them. They have abused most of us with their BS to the point where we requested to be off their "approved list" already. :new_llying:

Tekkie, what are you going to say about AMCs, when appraisal demand exceeds supply in your market? It will happen eventually, as times will get better. It might be quite entertaining for the masses. AMCs are not your problem, the down market is most likely your ultimate problem amigo. You really should take the time to consider all realities.

Why Apprasier's?? why not everyone that works take week of July 4th off. Seems government forgets where the money they throw away comes from..

What is your predicted turn time for AZ??

I agree with boycotting AMCs for one week but it makes no sense if we don't have a voice. A boycott needs to be organize and it would also need the national press involved to be effective otherwise you are just wasting your time. It has to be planned 4 to 6 months in advance so the organizer can give it publicity and the appraisers can make the necessary adjustments in their finances.

The Banks are already boycotting appraisers with the use of BPOs. Some appraisers rather get $30.00 to do a BPO than to get $350.00 to do an appraisal. It is sad.

In a nation with 10+% unemployment; a raging ecological disaster in the Gulf; the threat of war in Korea; an active war in Afghanistan; the potential acquisition of nuclear weapons in Iran; looming mid-term elections; a political crisis centered on illegal immigration; a continuing foreclosure crisis; and looming taxes to pay for the largest pile of debt the world has ever seen, who in their right mind thinks that the press (or the American people) gives a rat's *** about the plight of real estate appraisers?
