If you think you have what it takes to out-maneuver the lenders then bless your heart. Appraisers will never have enough resources to buy - and retain - the number of politicians it would take to get what they want from govt.

I see that as an admission of guilt. The lenders have all kinds of money. They drive around in Lambourgini's and hire hit men to do their bidding. LA and San Diego must be scary places to appraise. Someday they will get caught red-handed. Some day.

We're unhappy with the legal environment which exists and allows the miscreants to miscreate. The politicians who legislate and execute the laws/regs which comprise that environment are the responsible party.

And everyone understands that the politicians aren't even for sale. They're for rent.

I'm still looking for the bankers' fingerprints on the content of Appraisal Standards and Appraiser Qualifications and state licensing criteria.

Evidently in vain.
 
I was a big fan of the Society until the AI took it over. The SRA is still useful for testimony work, but AMCs could not care less if you have a designation, only a pulse. I have to admit I have not been involved with any organization for over 20 years, not really sure what this is all about.

I just heard she posted her resignation on FB and the fireworks are about to start.
Could someone here give a quick summary of what and why so many think AI is not interested in the appraisal profession and protecting it? I've apparently not been paying attention in recent years so not sure what's been going on or what the changes have been.
