Corelogic Just Acquired Alamode

I

I would have no problem if alamode kept it's sponsorship. They have the burden on them to prove they are still worthy of appraiser's business after selling.

Let the Fest keep the sponsorship money (be supportive) if that's what they decide to do and if contributes to the fests success. A successful Fest does not equate to a boon for CL any more than Coca Colas ads or availability of their fountain drinks defines the success of a Rock n Roll concert. They are not the stars or headliners of the Fest and Appraisers wouldn't be going to see them per se. One does not have to go to a Fest to acquire their products. And attending Appraisers already have their software and probably not keen on interrupting their business flow merely due to software allegiance.

I venture to say there will be very little swaying or inducement to switch software based solely upon new ownership - unless of course they start jacking prices up, fall short on tech support; etc. CL is not some unknown, new kid on the block to Appraisers - most know of their reputation, their low end pay for products and their quest to be the kings of data, .

Additionally, unless the contract contains language allowing the Fest organizers to cancel the contract tin the event that ala mode was purchased, there is the matter of having a legally binding contract in place

We hear of sponsors backing out of events or agreements all of the time, the "me too" movement and such...or some other offensive action that may cause them to pull out. But that's usually covered in some sort of ethics clause.

But what about the other side? Can the sponsee return the sponsor's money and say thanks but no thanks? Hard telling not knowing the details of the contract.

Maybe some members here have some insight into the actual dealings? Please chime in here if that's the case. This is not to get anyone riled up, just curious if that's playing a role in the decision to go forward as planned. Like Non Sequitur has said, it's a pickle for the organizers. Knowing that it is binding might help.

I really don't think that analogy is fair. What if it's a Tupac concert and Notorious B.I.G. was operating the soda fountain? Coke doesn't compete with rock bands.

The fact of the matter is that corelogic IS competition for appraisers. I don't think I have to waste your time or space on this thread making that point as it has been well established as fact at this point.

dividers like to divide. same story , a different day.

i hope the fest is a huge success. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

You're in a no win situation and some appraisers will turn against you through no fault of your own. No one can deliver what they really desire, they want the deal to be unwound and they want CoreLogic dead. That isn't going to happen so their displeasure will get directed at anyone in the general direction. It's already starting; Here, on Facebook, and Phil didn't dedicate his last podcast to talking appraisers off of the cliff because this is a non-issue.

Good luck, hopefully this is the only bump in the road to a successful inaugural Appraiser Fest.
I see. well thank you. Appreciate your true support for all the speakers, all the other vendors and all the other appraisers out there. As stated we haven’t made any decisions yet and it will take time. But why haven’t you said any of this in the 100% group?

huh. i stand behind all my posts.

wishing the fest good luck has nothing to do with corelogic.

it is more moving goal posts (know that feeling) and i have concluded that it is not their fault. it is not like they solicited corelogic as a sponsor.
