I created one last year using wix.com. It was about $179.00, and has been pretty much just sitting there ever since.

They tried to sell me a $600 sem package to get my site on page one of google searches, but I passed on that. I'm usually on around page 9 right now.

There are huge numbers of mineral appraisal ads and my website went from page 1 several years ago to about page 3 or 4. I have tried a few things to see if I can bounce that up somewhat, but so far not gaining any ground. OTOH, I still have a number of views monthly and turn a fairly high number considering. about 1 in 200 to 300 contact me, and I probably get about one-third of them. About 3 this month so far but that carried over 2 from late December.

If you specialize it helps. Getting the correct key words on your home page helps. I pay $385 for a local guy to manage the site. I add and modify the pages myself. I probably need to update a few pages but I'm old and lazy.

I have a very basic site through my internet provider. Can actually add a lot of bells and whistles if I want. Costs less than $20.00 a year. Site construction tool included.

Did have with minimal jobs sources from it. Have not had one for several years. If I quit all AMC work it would become more usefull. A new one would be more informational rather than a job getter.

I have one through my software (Total)
I'll be the first to say, it's not the greatest, mostly because I've never really worked on it/done anything with it. But I do get 1+/yr assignments out of it so it more than "pays for itself"

I have a Squarespace website. It costs $220/year and I pull 8-10 orders a year from the site. Easily covers the cost of the site. Pretty much there for informational purposes.

I usually get about a dozen inquiries a year from AppraiserUSA, which is free! Also, many AMCs use it to find appraisers in an area.
I created a website for free (Wix?) and connected it to AI, and it has drawn minimal inquiries.

Website? Is that some new-fangled version of a yellow pages ad?

Actually, never had/never will have one. People seem to find me anyway; usually referrals.

I took mine down about two years ago. Have not missed anything other than the cost to keep it up.

No loss in business what-so-ever.
