Much of the Tunisia underclass is being driven by Muslim extremists. There's a very large probability that Tunisia will fall to the radicals, turning a relatively Western-friendly country into another Iran, which could lead to more pressure on Egypt. This is the big worry right now.

Even Libya has the same problem...now we are talking about an oil rich country that has implications for the economy.

You have it right. Someday the west will learn not to support corrupt, oppressive governments just to obtain short-term favors. All it does in the long-term is build resentment against western countries among the people of the country.
 
Marcelyn Love, a spokeswoman for the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, said she could not address the Jimmy John's situation specifically.
But she said the temporary increase in the corporate income tax "will help stabilize the budget, making Illinois more attractive to businesses."
"Through this plan, we're taking the necessary steps to strengthen the economy, attract new investment and put people to work," she said.

There is an article in the NYT where the Congress is working on a bankruptcy law for states. That is sending the municipal bonds tanking on the mere suggestion of not paying.

If enough population and businesses take flight from one state to another, say California for example, the governor may declare an emergency.

In Illinois, it is a matter of PR to tell the population they have nothing to worry about.

This is very radical thinking here, but if the fiscal emergency gets extreme enough, the state might have to consider cutting back on two or three of these important agencies. :icon_idea:

State to a different State, and, illegal to go out of business too.....
