How many on average.

I do the most during the summer months.

Around here, summer is the slow time for appraisals. The number of refi's drops off during the summer months as people are out enjoying the nice weather. In spring they refi to get cash for their summer plans. In fall they refi to pay off their summer debt. In winter they refi to pay off xmas bills.

The last few years refi's have dried up for me.

My time is divided by:

50% Purchase deals appraisals

20% Refinance appraisals

20 REO Work for banks

10% Expert witness for court

15-20 per month I would say on average. It has been really sporadic lately with office vacations and the turmoil style market.

Wasn't doing much to start with (Retired). Now, the bottom has dropped out.

Doing about 2 a week. Spent last 5 years doing about 10-15 a week as staff appraiser at bank ( only possible because I had a very limited coverage area and only did the appraisal- no dealing with LO's, soliciting work, billing, etc). Bank sold and now get a fraction at full fee from AMC and a few other clients. It is very tough basically starting out and trying to get clients in this market.
I have my salespersons license and have picked up a few deals for a little income from family and friends. Just trying to get through this market and be ready when things turn around.

Phone hasn't stopped ringing all month. Too busy...need to go fishing.

You ever catch any of those stocked Tiger Muskies they have out there in CO? Very cool fish.

I fish two lakes that have Tigers, Lathrop State Park and Trinidad. A couple of years ago, one of tournament guys caught a 20# + on a spinner bait. Another member of our bass club has caught a nice one but not during a tournament. I saw several last month at Lathrop. They come up and swim on the surface with their mouths open. Very awesome. Caught Muskies up in Canada years ago.

Best wishes,

Mike
