The Oregon firearm background check queue is now over 27,600.

Gun sales in Oregon skyrocketed in November, according to the latest FBI background check data. The state never had a month in 2022 with over 40,000 background checks... until last month, when 91,661 were initiated. Note that multiple firearms can be transferred with each NICS check.

Federal Judge Karin Immergut said she expects to issue written ruling next Mon or Tues on whether or not to grant temporary restraining order of Measure 114.

I feel like the "they're going to take away my guns" bit comes up every election cycle. I'm not too worried about putting it off.

As of Friday, Oregon State Police had 41,160 background checks pending for gun purchases or transfers.

As long as Measure 114 lacks a system implementing the permitting requirement and functions as a de facto ban on firearm sales in Oregon it violates the right to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the Second and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution.

So, YES if you have paid for your firearm and are still waiting in the background check queue on Midnight of December 7th the are taking away your guns.

The judge has given parties to the pending four federal lawsuits until noon Monday to submit any friend of court briefs in support or against the pending motions for a temporary restraining order.
